물류사업에서 전표 인쇄는 매우 중요한 작업중의 하나이다. 화물이 어디에서 집하하여 어디를 경유하여 어디로 배송 되었는지를 일목요연하게 정리 할 수 있도록 하는 매우 중요한 작업중의 하나이다. 일반적으로 가장 많이 사용하는 물류전표는 2장이상의 전표를 묶음으로 사용하여 NCR지나 카본지를 사용하여 볼펜으로 강하게 눌러서 작성하여야 마지막 전표까지 그 내용이 표기되는 방식이었으며, 고객이 화물을 부칠 때 배송기사가 작성을 하는 경우도 있고, 고객이 작성해 놓았다고 하더라도 배송 목적지 영업소명이나 코드를 전표에 기입한 다음 수취를 하게 되므로 집하를 하는데 많은 시간이 소요된다. 이러한 문제점을 해소하기 위하여 고정거래처에서는 스티커 운송용 전표를 이용하여 배송내용을 전산에 의하여 출력할 수 있도록 기능을 대폭 개선을 하여 사용하고 있었으나, 이러한 기능은 바코드 전용프린터를 사용하여야만 출력이 가능하였다. 또한 바코드 전용프린터의 장비가 퍼스널 컴퓨터에서 작동이 가능하였지만 기존에 사용하고 있던 잉크젯 프린터, 돗트 프린터, 레이저 프린터와 겸용으로 사용이 불가하여 작업때 마다 프린터 케이블을 바꾸어 인쇄해야하는 불편함이 있었다. 또한 이러한 출력기능도 대형거래선에는 운송사에서 제공하는 바코드 전용 프린터를 사용할 수 있지만 중소형 물량을 취급하는 거래처에는 제공이 되지 않아 4묶음이나 그이상으로 구성되어있는 일반형 물류전표에 돗트프린터를 사용하여 내용을 인쇄한 후 화물에 부착하여야 하므로 돗트프린터를 구입하여야 하는 경제적 부담이 발생한다.Printing vouchers is one of the most important tasks in the logistics business.
