Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a screen for a projection display in which an image projected from a projector or a slide is condensed and viewed in real life.
A projection display is a kind of image display device that displays an image by projecting an image irradiated from a projection device such as a projector or a slide onto a screen.
Screens used in such projection displays are classified into two types: a front projection screen in which an image is projected in the same direction as the viewer sees and a rear projection screen in which the image is projected to the back of the viewer.
The screen weakens, blocks, and diffuses light beams that do not belong to the image portion of the light projected from the projector or the slide, and transmits light rays belonging to the image portion so that an observer looking in front of the screen can see the correct screen.
In general, the well-known screen structure, the surface of the glass or acrylic plate is formed roughly by etching, sandblasting or using a mold, thereby forming a structure in which the diffusion layer in the frosted or translucent state. Such translucent screens scatter light so that the projected image can be seen from the projection display. However, the screen has limited visibility and poor light transmission of objects behind the screen, resulting in fading or washout of the projected image.
In order to solve this problem, U.S. Patent No. 5,563,738 attaches an array of glass beads to an transparent substrate by means of an opaque binder, thereby keeping the projected image light beam at an acceptable level while reducing the ambient light effect. Disclosed is a structure for enabling the use.
The rear projection screen described above uses glass beads as optical apertures to transmit light rays between opaque layers, thereby improving image visibility and light transmittance.
However, because the screen is very sensitive to the refraction of light rays and the quality and placement of glass beads used as optical apertures, poor speckles on the image when the bead size is not accurate, spherical or defective. There is a problem in that punch through or spots are visually displayed.
In order to solve this problem, Korean Laid-Open Patent Publication No. 2001-6184 (January 26, 2001) discloses a technology in which a diffuser is further formed by roughening a substrate surface. The screen disclosed herein solves the above-described image defect problem to some extent by adding the light scattering action of the diffuser together with the glass beads.
However, since the screen also uses glass beads as refraction of light and optical apertures, visible defects in the image can be caused by the glass beads, further roughening the substrate surface to form diffusers and Since glass beads must be uniformly disposed on the surface, the structure is complicated and difficult to manufacture.
In order to solve the problems of the prior art, the present invention is an irregular array coating of beads having a size distribution of various sizes on the base film, and the image projected from the projector or the slide through the beads of the diffuser formed in this way This image is formed by refraction and scattering to form an image, thereby eliminating display defects of the image, simplifying the structure, and facilitating easy manufacture.

Preferably, the diffusion plate may be provided with a plurality of diffusion plates, and in this case, the diffusion layers may be disposed to face each other or sequentially stacked.
The base film uses a polyester film. In addition, the beads are preferably formed to have a size distribution of 1 ~ 30㎛, in particular in consideration of the image quality it is possible to obtain a better result to form a size distribution of 5 ~ 15㎛.
Preferably, the beads may be formed of an acryl, coated with a solvent on a base film, and then volatilized to form the diffusion plate.
EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION Hereinafter, preferred embodiment for implementing this invention is described based on an accompanying drawing.

The front and / or rear surface of the diffusion plate covers the substrate 11 to protect the diffusion layer 15 in particular. Substrate 11 should be installed to cover at least the surface of the diffusion layer 15, it is preferable to install on both the front and the back of the diffusion plate to cover the surface of the base film (13). In addition, the diffusion layer 15 may remove the base film 13 and form a coating directly on the surface of the substrate 11.
On the other hand, it is preferable to form an antireflection layer 17 on the surface (or screen) of the substrate 11 on the observer side to improve image quality, which can be realized by UV coating.
Of the diffusion plates constituting the screen 1 of the present invention, the base film 13 is formed to have flexibility using a transparent polyester film.
