Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for updating program guide information of a digital broadcasting receiver is provided to update electronic program guide information only for a preference channel set by a user so as to update and display electronic program guide within a short period of time. When a user inputs a key to display a program guide on a screen, it is judged whether or not program guide information is updated.
