Abstract

PURPOSE: A recording apparatus and a recording method of a PVR(Personal Video Recorder) system are provided to simply record a broadcasting program only by a telephone. CONSTITUTION: A ring detecting unit(2) detects a ring signal inputted through a telephone line and a line interface(1). A CPU(6) wakes up a system from a sleep mode by the ring detecting unit. An HDD(Hard Disk Drive)(7) stores an announcement message for remote recording as voice data and stores a broadcasting to be recorded. A DAC(Digital to Analog Converter)(3) receives the voice data for converting the voice data into analog data to be transmitted to a user through the line interface. A DTMF(Dual Tone Multi Frequency) decoder(4) decodes a channel number and a recording time transmitted by the user to be applied to the CPU. An MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) encoder(9) encodes the broadcasting to be recorded and stores the encoded broadcasting in the HDD. An MPEG decoder(8) decodes the broadcasting to be output to a screen.
