Abstract

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device with scattering type color filters is provided to obtain desired phase change in a liquid crystal layer by scattering the light while passing through color filters, thereby improving the wide viewing angle characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device with scattering type color filters includes a plurality of black matrixes(40) disposed on an upper substrate by a predetermined interval, color filters(50) formed among the black matrixes and containing scattering elements(60) in resin thereof, electrodes formed on the surfaces of the color filters and the lower substrate for changing the orientation of liquid crystal in response to a voltage supply, a polarization plate attached to outer surfaces of the upper and lower substrates, liquid crystal filled between the upper and lower substrates, and a sealant for sealing the liquid crystal between the upper and lower substrates.
