Abstract

PURPOSE: A unified entrance control system construction method is provided to prevent an unauthorized person from accessing an entrance of a building or an office by installing plural fingerprint recognition modules at necessary spots and connecting them over a TCP/IP network. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. The data on the facility entrance and information access is classified for each fingerprint, and being stored at a database which is managed by a central server. Plural fingerprint recognition modules are installed at entrances of controlled areas or information access devices. The fingerprint recognition modules read fingerprint data of passersby, and transmit the read fingerprint data to the central server. The central server authenticates the passersby for determining an entrance permission or an access permission based on the classified data in the database. The central server transmits the authentication result to the entrances or the information access devices, and then the locks are released or alarm sound is generated according to the authentication result.
