PURPOSE: A method of setting a language of a set top box menu is provided to set a language of a menu related with language setting among menus of a set top box to a language recognizable by a user in advance. CONSTITUTION: A user sets main and sub-menu items related with language selection of set top box menus to a language recognizable by the user at the first step(S11). When a user calls a menu through a key operation part formed in the set top box in order to set functions and options of the set top box(S12), the main menu composed of a plurality of items is displayed at the second step(S13). When a main menu item having a language setting function is selected from the displayed main menu(S14), sub-menu having a plurality of items is displayed at the third step(S15). When the user selects a language setting item from the displayed sub-menu to set a language the user wants(S16), menu items other than the menu items set at the first step are converted into the language set by the user at the fourth step(S17).
