Abstract

PURPOSE: A visual watermarking method and system using stereogram are provided to hide a code image in a visual image such as printed image to easily authenticate the image. CONSTITUTION: Information about the original image is read using a computer. Similarity between the read image information and stereogram images is calculated, and the most similar stereogram image is selected from a database. A specific standard is fixed, and then the stereogram image is inserted into a portion of the original image, which meets the standard. The stererogram image is not inserted into a portion that does not meet the standard. A new image having the same size as the size of the original image is created, and the stererogram image is inserted into the new image.

전자암호(Digital watermarking) 기술은 영상 및 음악 등 디지털 콘텐츠에 일정 형태의 정보를 제 3자가 알 수 없도록 숨겨놓는 기술이다. 이 기술은 저작권 보호 차원에서 개발이 진행된 것으로 콘텐츠에 저작권자에 관한 ID정보 등을 삽입해 두면 부정으로 사용할 경우 저작권 침해를 주장할 수 있는 강력한 수단이 되기 때문이다. 또한, 전자암호는 저작권 보호 이외의 용도로도 이용사례가 증가하고 있다. 일본 보건의료정보센터 가운데 하나인 AHMIC는 지난 1998년 2월 인터넷을 사용한 원격진료의 가능성을 점검하는 실험을 실시했다. 이 실험에는 환자의 사생활을 보호한다는 차원에서 디지털 워터마크 기술이 사용됐다. X선 영상에 환자의 개인정보와 각종 검사결과 데이터를 "전자암호"형태로 삽입해 인터넷으로 원격지의 의사에게 전송한다. 이때 암호를 푸는 키가 없는 다른 제3자가 그 정보를 보면 알아볼 수 없는 정보가 되어 개인의 사생활을 보호할 수 있는 것이다. 디지털 워터마크 기술은 이밖에도 위조방지 용도로 사용될 수 있다. 아직 구체적인 사례는 나오지 않았으나 가장 유망한 것이 디지털카메라에의 적용이다. 디지털카메라로 영상을 촬영할 때 전자암호가 자동적으로 삽입되도록 설정해. 영상을 누군가가 조금이라도 수정할 경우 전자암호가 없어지도록 함으로써 무단위조의 유무를 판정할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 손해보험회사의 사고처리 시 사고차량 촬영, 건설현장에서의 공사 진행상황 촬영 등 촬영한 영상을 결정적인 증거로 활용할 때 주로 사용될 수 있다. 현재 히타치 ·NEC ·일본IBM 등이 이 기술의 디지털카메라 채용을 검토하고 있는 것으로 알려지고 있다. DVD의 저작권 관리에도 전자암호은폐 기술을 이용하려는 움직임이 본격화하고 있다. 워터마크 기술은 크게 공간 영역(spatial domain)에서의 워터마크 삽입 기술과 주파수 영역(frequency domain)에서의 워터마크 삽입기술로 나눌 수가 있는 데 두 방법 중 주파수 영역에서의 marking기술은 그림1.에서 처럼주파수 영역에서 암호를 삽입할 수 있다.Digital watermarking technology is a technology that hides a certain form of information in a digital content such as video and music so that a third party cannot know.
