Abstract
Description
본 발명은 대부분의 무선랜 방식, 즉 2.4 GHz 대역에서 동작되는 IEEE 802.11b 등과 같은 방식 클라이언트(Client) 접속 카드가 AP(access point)와 무선 네트웍으로 접속되는 기능과 개인 컴퓨터에 이동형 저장 장치로 사용되는 USB형 플레시 메모리 저장장치를 결합하여 휴대의 편리성과 접속의 용이성을 살리는 복합기능의 무선 네트웍 저속 저장장치의 결합방법에 관한 것으로, 무선랜 카드는 크게 PC 카드 방식과 USB 방식으로 구분되고, 도 1은 종래 무선랜 시스템의 블록 구성도이다. 여기서 참조 번호 100은 엑세스 포인트이고, 참조번호 101은 무선랜 카드를 나타내고 있다. 일반적으로 엑세스 포인트와 무선랜 카드는 안테나(1)에서 수신된 무선랜 신호를 802.11 무선부(2)를 거처 무선랜 MAC(media access controller)라고 칭하는 회로를 통해 변,복조하여 이더넷으로 인터넷 망과 사용자의 PC와 연결을 되게 해준다. 사용 목적과 PC의 형태에 따라 무선랜 카드(11)는 적절히 선택되어 사용된다. 주로 노트북 PC에는 무선랜 PC 카드를 사용하고 데스크 탑과 노트북 PC에 USB 무선랜 카드가 사용된다. 또한 도 2에서 명기된 USB 저장 장치는 부품상태의 NAND 플레시 메모리(24)를 플레시 어뎁터 메모리 제어기(25)로 제어 되어 입출력 제어기(26)를 거쳐 USB 인터페이스(27)와 직렬BUS를 통하여 컴퓨터(21)에서 32M/64M/128M/256M byte 등으로 구성되어 휴대형 저장장치로 편리하게 사용된다. 그러나 서로 독립적으로 사용되어 왔던 USB 무선랜 카드와 USB 메모리 저장장치는 휴대성이 강조되는 현 시점에서 서로 다른 형태로 존재하므로 두 가지 기기를 휴대해야 하는 단점을 갖고있다.In the present invention, most wireless LAN schemes, i.e., IEEE 802.11b operating in the 2.4 GHz band, are used as a mobile storage device for a personal computer and a function in which a client access card is connected to an AP and a wireless network. 이하, 상기와 같이 구성된 본 발명의, USB 무선랜 카드와 USB형 플레시 메모리 저장장치의 결합방법의 기술적 사상에 따른 일실시예를 도면을 참조하여 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다. 도 3은 본 발명의 일실시예가 적용되는 USB 무선랜 카드와 USB형 플레시 메모리 저장장치의 결합방법의 블록 구성도이고, 이에 도시한 바와 같이 USB 포트가 구비된 컴퓨터에서 직렬 버스(21)로 나타내는 USB 케이블로 USB무선랜 카드와 USB형 플레시 메모리 저장장치(102)로 연결되어 내부의 USB 허브(28)을 통해 각각의 기능 블록으로 분배된다. 먼저 무선랜 블록은 USB 인터페이스(20)를 통해 무선랜 MAC(15)에서 처리되어 802.11 무선부(2)를 경유하여 무선으로 연결된 엑세스 포인트와 연결된다. 또한 USB 메모리 장치는 USB 허브(28)을 통해 분기되어 USB 인터페이스를 거쳐 입출력 제어기(26), 플레시 어뎁터 메모리 제어기(25)를 통해 NAND 플레시 메모리(24)로 데이터가 저장되는 구조를 갖게 된다. 이상에서 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예를 설명하였으나, 본 발명은 다양한 변화와 변경 및 균등물을 사용할 수 있다.본 발명은 상기 실시예를 적절히 변형하여 동일하게 응용할 수 있음이 명확하다. 즉 IEEE802.11a(5 GHz 대역/54 Mbps) 방식과 IEEE802.11g(2.4GHz 대역/54 Mbps) 등의 무선랜 카드와 결합시킬 수 있으며, 상기 설명된 IEEE802.11b/a/g 무선랜 방식에 USB HDD 저장장치등과 동일한 방법으로 결합 시킬 수 있다. 따라서 상기 기재 내용은 하기 특허청구범위의 한계에 의해 정해지는 본 발명의 범위를 한정하는 것이 아니다.Hereinafter, an embodiment according to the spirit of the present invention configured as described above, a method of coupling a USB wireless LAN card and a USB type flash memory storage device will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
