Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for processing a call in occurrence of an overload in a mobile communication system is provided to prevent a call incapability state of an adjacent base station due to an excessive paging and provide an originating signal even in an overload state by first limiting a termination call, a factor having much influence in occurrence of the overload. CONSTITUTION: A base station periodically measures an occupancy rate of a CPU to check whether an overload has occurred(S21). The base station determines whether the measured occupancy rate of the CPU is above 85%(S22). If the measured occupancy rate of the CPU is below 85%, the base station regards it as a normal class and performs a normal call processing operation(S23). If the measure occupancy rate of the CPU is above 85%, the base station determines whether the measured occupancy rate is above 90%(S24). If the measured occupancy rate is less than 90%, the base station regards it as an overload minor class and reports only the overload state to a base station managing device(S25).
