Abstract

PURPOSE: Installation structure of an idler shaft for a manual transmission is provided to work conveniently by assembling with fitting the idler shaft to a transmission housing and a clutch housing, and to cut down expenses by reducing parts. CONSTITUTION: A manual transmission is composed of a drive pinion, a counter shaft, a main shaft connected to a reduction gear, a synchronizer, an idler gear(2), and an idler shaft(4). The idler gear is engaged with the main shaft in backward movement of a vehicle, and inserted to the idler shaft to rotate. An end(20) of the idler shaft is inserted to a clutch housing(6), and an end(24) of the idler shaft is inserted to the side of a transmission housing(8). The idler shaft is formed of a linear rod, and fixed by inserting the end of the idler shaft to a first fitting groove(10) of the clutch housing. The idler shaft is assembled with inserting the end of the idler shaft to a second fitting groove(12) of the transmission housing. Assembling process is reduced, and parts and expenses are reduced with inserting the idler shaft to the clutch housing and the transmission housing.
