Abstract

PURPOSE: A steering improvement damper is provided to improve steering of a steering gear, and to reduce impact from the road surface by installing the damper in a feed tube supplying oil to left and right cylinders of the steering gearbox. CONSTITUTION: A damper(7) is installed in a feed tube(1), and pressure oil is passed through the damper. The damper is composed of a washer, a spring, a retainer, disk S valves, and a piston. Plural inner holes are formed in the piston, and a slit is formed in the disk S valve. First damping force is generated in plural inner holes in streaming oil from the gearbox valve through the damper during flowing oil from a right cylinder of the steering gearbox to a left cylinder. Second damping force is generated with deforming the disk valve momentarily in moving oil through the slit. Steering is improved, and impact from the road surface is minimized with adding the damper in the feed tube.
