Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an access network using an asymmetric digital subscriber line ("ADSL") system. The present invention relates to an Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) channel for each host PC (personal computer). The present invention relates to an access network and an ATM channel allocation method using ADSL.
ADSL is a transmission technology that enables high speed downstream transmission and low speed upstream transmission using a frequency band higher than a voice signal frequency band by using a conventional telephone subscriber line. Downlink transmission means transmission from the network to the subscriber, and uplink transmission means transmission from the subscriber to the network.
This asymmetric data transmission apparatus using ADSL connects high-speed data network to telephone subscriber line according to subscriber's request. Accordingly, subscribers can receive services such as video on demand and the Internet through subscriber lines.
1 illustrates a configuration of an access network using a conventional ADSL system. Referring to FIG. 1, a plurality of host PCs 100, 102, 104 are provided with an interface unit using a LAN card or Ethernet to perform an ADSL service, and are connected to an ADSL modem 106 through the interface unit. . The ADSL modem 106 is connected to the optical repeater 108 via a telephone line, and the optical repeater 108 is connected to an access server 110 through an optical cable STM-1. In this case, one ATM channel is assigned to the ADSL modem 106 from the connection to the access server 110. Accordingly, a plurality of host PCs 100, 102, and 104 connected to the ADSL modem 106 receive only one ATM channel. Internet service is performed through VC (Virtual Channel) multiplexing through virtual channel of. At this time, the ADSL modem 106 operates in rfc 1483 mode and transmits a plurality of host PCs 100, 102, and 104 connected through Ethernet through one ATM virtual channel formed between the access servers 110 through the optical repeater 108. In addition, data transmitted from the access server 110 is transmitted downward to the corresponding host PC through the ATM virtual channel.
However, in the conventional ADSL system as described above, a service is provided using only one ATM channel for a plurality of host PCs as shown in FIG. In other words, each of the host PC 1 (100), the host PC 2 (102), the host PC 3 (104) is formed between the ADSL modem 106, the optical repeater 108 and the access server 110 to run the Internet. ATM virtual channels are used to send and receive data. Accordingly, the access server 110 transmits data transmitted upward from the host to the Internet as it is, or bundles a plurality of host data through a single ATM virtual channel for data received from the Internet. Therefore, it is impossible to implement service differentiation in ADSL system for each host PC, and in places such as offices, if you need to restrict security for each host PC, you need to check packets using the Internet from the access server. There was a problem that the load increases.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide an access network using an asymmetric digital subscriber line, which is capable of allocating an ATM channel for each host PC, and an ATM channel allocation method for each host PC using the same.
The present invention for achieving the above object is to set up a different ATM channel for each host PC in the access network using the ADSL system by one telephone line to the host PC in the access network using the ADSL It is characterized in that the service is available.

And a detailed description of known functions and configurations that may unnecessarily obscure the subject matter of the present invention will be omitted.
2 illustrates an ADSL system configuration according to an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 2, a plurality of host PCs 100, 102, and 104 have an interface unit using a LAN card or Ethernet to perform an ADSL service, and are connected to the ADSL modem 200 through the interface unit. The ADSL modem 200 is connected to the optical repeater 202 through a telephone line, and the optical repeater 202 is connected to the access server 204 through an optical cable. At this time, the ADSL modem 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention is different from the conventional ADSL modem 106 shown in FIG. 1 as shown in Table 1 below. Access Control) Provides a table for mapping between addresses and virtual ATM channels.
That is, the ADSL modem 200 searches for an ATM channel corresponding to the MAC address of the host PC for uplink data transmitted from the host PC with reference to the mapping table provided in Table 1 above. The ATM channel value is included in the cell header for transmission. For the ATM cell transmitted downward from the access server 204, the header of the cell is analyzed to check the ATM channel value, and then the MAC address of the host PC corresponding to the ATM channel value is retrieved through the table. The MAC address of the PC is attached to the cell header and sent to the host PC.
Therefore, each of the host PC 1 (100), the host PC 2 (102), and the host PC 3 (104) are separately assigned to the virtual ATM channel set up on the telephone line and the optical cable to perform the internnet to perform the service.
3 and 4 illustrate a processing flow for virtual ATM channel establishment between a plurality of host PCs and an access server in an asymmetric digital subscriber line system modem according to an embodiment of the present invention. Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 2, 3, and 4.
First, referring to FIG. 3, which illustrates a process flow in the ADSL modem 200 during uplink transmission, the ADSL modem 200 may include any one of a plurality of host PCs 100, 102, and 104 connected by Ethernet in step 300. If upstream data from the server to the access server 204 is received, the process proceeds to step 302 in response. The ADSL modem 200 then checks the MAC address of the host PC transmitting the uplink data. In step 304, the ADSL modem 200 searches for an ATM channel value corresponding to the MAC address of the host PC by referring to the mapping table of the host PC and the ATM channel as shown in [Table 1]. . The ADSL modem 200 proceeds to step 306 to include the ATM channel value in the uplink data ATM cell header for uplink transmission to the access server 204. Accordingly, the uplink data transmitted from the host PC includes ATM channel values of the corresponding host PCs in a cell header, thereby establishing a separate virtual ATM channel between the plurality of host PCs 100, 102, 104, and the access server 204.
Next, referring to FIG. 4, which illustrates a process flow in the ADSL modem 200 during downlink transmission, the ADSL modem 200 includes the downlink data in response to the upstream data from the access server 204 in step 400. If so, the process proceeds to step 402 in response. The ADSL modem 200 then analyzes the downlink data ATM cell header to check the ATM channel value. In step 404, the ADSL modem 200 searches for the MAC address of the host PC corresponding to the ATM channel value by referring to the mapping table of the host PC and the ATM channel. The ADSL modem 200 proceeds to step 406 to include the MAC address in the downlink data ATM cell header and transmit the downlink to the corresponding host PC.
Accordingly, the uplink data transmitted from the host PC includes the ATM channel value of each corresponding host PC in the cell header, and the downlink data transmitted from the access server includes the MAC address value of the corresponding host PC. A separate virtual ATM channel can be set up between the host PC and the access server. Therefore, it is possible to differentiate service on ADSL line by each host PC of ADSL system. When ATM channel is allocated to each host PC, access server is connected to the Internet when it is necessary to restrict security for each host PC in the place where security is required such as office. The server load is reduced because it does not have to check every packet using.
As described above, the present invention enables individual host PCs in the ADSL system to be individually managed through a service using a respective channel, thereby blocking unnecessary data received from the Internet for each PC, and for each host PC. It is possible to manage in the server has the advantage that can be easily managed security for each host PC.
