Abstract

PURPOSE: A device for displaying caption of digital TV is provided to grasp a sub screen outline and a program progress situation by outputting caption information of sub screen on a screen. CONSTITUTION: An extraction unit(31) extracts inputted data by each feature. An audio processor(32) decodes audio data of the extracted data and outputs the decoded data to a speaker(35). A video processor(33) decodes video data of the extracted data and outputs the decoded data to a display formatter(36). The caption information extracted in the extraction unit(31) is displayed according to a viewing mode which a user wants. The caption information displayed on a main screen includes caption information related with a second program.
