Abstract

PURPOSE: A tensioner indicates adjusted tension value when adjusting the tension of a timing belt by moving the tensioner. CONSTITUTION: Multiple winding grooves(22a) with a scale(26) indicating the tension value of a timing belt(12) carved are formed on the outer periphery of adjusting end(16) of a tensioner(10a). An adjusting device(24) engaged with the winding grooves(22a) and having elasticity is installed to a front case of an engine. The adjusting device(24) having installation ends on both ends thereof and winding grooves(22b) engaged with the winding grooves(22a) is installed to the front case of the engine wound with an oval shape so as to have elasticity. To adjust the tension of the timing belt(12), bolts(18) of a fixing end(14) and the adjusting end(16) of the tensioner(10a) are released and the tensioner(10a) is moved. The winding grooves(22a) is moved engagedly with the winding grooves(22b) of the adjusting device(24) then. When the scale(26) corresponds with a tension indicating scale of the winding grooves(22b) which is a reference point, the tension of the timing belt(12) is adjusted appropriately.
