Abstract

PURPOSE: A method of controlling display of an electric program guide image is to pop up an event selected by a user to increase selecting reliability, and display the event along with a brief description to conveniently select the event. CONSTITUTION: A controller decides whether one of items included in the electric program guide image is selected. and then the selected item is popped up and displayed. In the method, the deciding operation is determined by whether a pointer is stopped on one item for a constant time, or whether the item is clicked by a mouse. When the clicking operation of the mouse is released, the process is changed into a previous state before the popping-up operation. In the item selecting process, a display controlling value related to the selected item is firstly detected. The brief information of the event of the selected event is read by the controller. The changed display controlling value is calculated to expand the detected display controlling value. Then, the selected event portion is re-displayed corresponding to the changed display controlling value.
