Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing complex board by using granular carbon is provided to substitute conventional particle board or MDF, which is expensive as well as harmful to human due to residual formaldehyde that is used as an additive. The complex board, by using granular carbon, has properties such as deodorization, shielding the electromagnetic wave, and emitting anion. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (i) granulating carbon to be 0.001-10 mm; (ii) controlling its weight to be about 150 kg/m¬3; (iii) roasting the carbon granule at 180°C for 2-3 min. The obtained carbon granule is mixed with wood chip in a ratio of 1:9 to 9:1, and additives such as urea resins, melamine resins, and phenolic resins are used.
