Abstract

PURPOSE: A motor vehicle air filter and a method of manufacturing the same are provided to achieve a comfortable condition for a cabin area of motor vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An air filter for adsorbing, collecting and removing dust, hazardous gas and offensive odor contained in the air, comprises three filter layers(6,7,8). The first filter layer is constituted by a monofilament non-woven fabric of polyester base and collects large particle dust contained in the air. The second filter layer is constituted by polypropylene micro fiber and collects fine particle dust. The third filter layer is constituted by activated carbon fiber of polyester base, and adsorbs and removes hazardous gas contained in the air.
