Description

LCD apparatus for preventing an wave-type display}LCD apparatus for preventing an wave-type display

The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device for preventing a wave phenomenon, and more particularly, by synchronizing the output frequency of the inverter with the frequency of the horizontal synchronizing signal supplied to the panel of the liquid crystal chassis, the data signals of the pixels are equally averaged and line by line. A liquid crystal display device which prevents a wave phenomenon by preventing a change in luminance.

In general, a liquid crystal display device is configured by combining a liquid crystal chassis, printed circuit boards, and a backlight assembly, a liquid crystal chassis supporting a liquid crystal panel, and printed circuit boards on which a component for electric operation is mounted. The backlight assembly is configured to supply light from one surface of the liquid crystal chassis. In addition, an inverter for supplying AC power for driving the backlight assembly is further configured.

Referring to FIG. 1, the liquid crystal display device is configured such that the inverter 14 supplies current to the liquid crystal chassis 10 in which the liquid crystal panel 12 is assembled. The inverter 14 supplies AC power to the backlight assembly included in the liquid crystal chassis 10 and supplies a voltage having a frequency in the range of 30 KHz to 70 KHz.

In the liquid crystal panel 12, pixels are formed in a matrix, and the pixels basically include a thin film transistor, a storage capacitor, and a liquid crystal capacitor, wherein the liquid crystal capacitor is a liquid crystal having a predetermined dielectric constant between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode. It is configured to include. Each pixel is operated by applying a horizontal signal and a vertical signal, and the horizontal signal has a constant frequency of about 48 KHz.

The counter electrode is a common electrode composed of a common terminal, and is usually formed on an upper plate of a panel, that is, a surface viewed by a user, and is manufactured by coating the entire surface with a conductor of a predetermined material. At this time, since the counter electrode is a conductor, it has a constant electrical resistance and forms parasitic capacitance with other conductors located in the periphery.

The parasitic capacitance is affected by the radiation noise generated by the high frequency power supplied from the above-described inverter. As a result, the potential of the common electrode is distorted, and the luminance difference is generated for each pixel by changing the voltage applied to the liquid crystal. As a result, waves are generated. In particular, the wave phenomenon occurs seriously when the frequency of the inverter and the frequency of the horizontal signal are different.

That is, in the normal case, the data applied to the pixel is the same as that of FIG. 2A, but when the inverter output signal having a frequency different from the horizontal signal is affected, the potential of the common electrode is shaken as shown in FIG. 2B, and the overall data level is distorted. Waves with non-uniform brightness are generated.

Therefore, the wave phenomenon as described above occurs, and accordingly a problem that seriously affects the reliability of the product occurs.

An object of the present invention is to synchronize the output of the inverter on the basis of the horizontal signal applied to each pixel of the liquid crystal panel, the horizontal signal is actively changed to the change of the common voltage, so that the luminance of each line is uniform, thereby preventing the occurrence of wave phenomenon. It is in a ship.

Other objects of the present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description and the accompanying drawings.

The liquid crystal display device for preventing the wave phenomenon according to the present invention includes a liquid crystal chassis including a liquid crystal panel and a printed circuit board and having a backlight assembly installed thereon, and a frequency of a horizontal signal applied to each pixel of the liquid crystal panel from the printed circuit board. And a graphic controller for outputting a horizontal synchronous signal having the same frequency and an inverter having an AC voltage output synchronized with the frequency of the horizontal synchronous signal.

Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Referring to FIG. 3, in the embodiment of the present invention, the liquid crystal panel 32 is configured in the liquid crystal chassis 30, and the inverter is configured to supply AC power to a backlight assembly (not shown) included in the liquid crystal chassis 30. 34 is configured. The graphic controller 36 is configured to apply the horizontal synchronization signal to the inverter 34.

As described above, the inverter 34 has an output in synchronization with the frequency of the horizontal synchronous signal provided from the graphic controller 36, so that the output frequency of the inverter 34 is the horizontal synchronous signal output from the graphic controller 36. Is matched to the frequency of

The horizontal synchronizing signal is equal to the frequency of the horizontal signal applied to each pixel of the liquid crystal panel 32. Consequently, if the frequency of the horizontal synchronizing signal is 48 MHz, the output frequency of the inverter 34 is adjusted to 48 KHz.

In the above-described configuration, the liquid crystal panel 32 has a top plate made of color filters (not shown) and a bottom plate made of TFT substrates (not shown), and the color filter and TFT substrates are formed on the common electrode line through short pads. The short pad is connected to a circuit for regulating the voltage of the common electrode through a drive integrated circuit (not shown) configured to output a driving signal for driving the liquid crystal panel 32.

A parasitic capacitor is equivalently formed between the common electrode and the inverter 34, and the voltage of the common electrode is influenced by the output of the inverter 34 through the coupled capacitor.

The luminance of the liquid crystal panel 32 is determined by the potential difference between the data voltage and the common voltage. The present invention synchronizes the output I of the inverter 34 with the horizontal synchronizing signal H as shown in FIG.

Then, as described above, the common voltage affected by the voltage of the inverter 34 is generated in the same amount in each horizontal line, and the luminance difference for each line is canceled accordingly. That is, since the same potential difference is formed on a line-by-line basis, there is no luminance difference.

That is, since the horizontal signal and the frequency of the inverter are the same, since the line-by-line change of the average data signal does not occur, the luminance is uniform, and thus the wave phenomenon is prevented.

As described in detail above, the present invention has been described in detail with respect to preferred embodiments, but those skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains, various embodiments of the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention It will be appreciated that the present invention may be modified or modified as described above.

Therefore, according to the present invention, since the potential of the data signal for determining the luminance is equalized on average, the luminance difference per line is eliminated, and the wave phenomenon is prevented, thereby maximizing the reliability of the product.
