종래에는 사용후 사용자가 손수 코드를 정돈해서 보관해야하기 때문에 번거로운 점도 있거니와, 대부분 사용자는 코드를 뭉친상태로 용기에 담아두거나, 주머니 등에 넣어두는 관계로 사용하고자 할때에는 코드가 마구 엉켜있게 되고, 또 구김이나 꼬임등으로 인해서 제품이 손상되어, 성능이 저하되는 등의 문제점이 있었다. 한편, 이에대해 코드를 자동으로 정립하는 장치가 있는데, 이는 그 정립방식이 플러그 부분의 코드는 고정되고, 코드가 감길부분은 회전을 해야하는 관계로 플러그측 코드와 이어폰측 코드는 반드시 분리되어 있고, 이 분리된 부분은 다시 접점단자로 하여금 회전을 하면서 접속되도록 구성된 것이 있다. 그러므로, 접속부분이 접점단자의 마찰로 인하여 마모되는 현상이 있고, 그 밀착도나 표면의 고르기 여부에 따라 음질이 떨어지거나 또는 고장이 잦고 특히, 최근 휴대폰과 같은 통신장비용 이어폰의 경우에는 예민한 전파송수신 기능이 있기 때문에 이러한 종래의 접점방식을 적용하기에는 적합하지 못한 문제점이 따른다. 한편, 이와같은 문제점을 해결하기 위한 기술로, 대한민국 특허출원 출원번호 제10-2000-2286호의「코드를 정립하는 권취드럼 플러그」에서 제안되어 있는바에 의하면, 플러그 단자가 권취드럼의 중심부에 구성되어, 드럼내의 로울러와 함께 회전하면서 접점이 없이 코드전체를 정립하도록 구현되는 것이 있으나, 이는 플러그 부분이 회전을 하는 관계로 핸드폰과 같은 기기의 잭에 꼽힌 상태에서는 줄을 인출하거나 정립하기가 불가능하다. 또, 대한민국 특허출원 출원번호 제10-2000-4551호의「양방향 인출 코드 정립장치」에 있어서는 상기 서술된 문제점들을 모두 해결할 수는 있겠으나, 이는 구조적으로 권취롤의 정립부가 양옆에 가이드로 형성된 막이 코드가 감길만큼의 원둘레 크기와 그전체의 부피가 있어서 이어폰을 사용할때 줄의 중간에 매달려 있게 되는 관계로 그 권취기능 자체의 원형형상이 외관상 보여지게 됨으로, 미관에 결여되는 문제점도 있거니와, 그 무게 또한 불편하게 작용할 것으로 보인다.Conventionally, after use, users have to arrange their own cords, which is cumbersome.However, most users put the cords together in a container or put them in their pockets.
