Abstract

PURPOSE: A track ball user interface system for a mobile communication terminal and a method thereof are provided to reduce the size of a key input part of the mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: This track ball user interface system includes a track ball part having a track ball, an up/down sensor, a left/right sensor, and a push sensor; a memory storing plural icons showing various functions of the terminal; a display displaying the icons and general display data; and a control part producing a control signal in order to perform the function of one of the icons selected by a user. The present invention can reduce the size of the key input and provide convenience to a user.
