Such a multi-interface network management system is characterized by integrating different network management protocols used in various kinds of communication systems into one platform to generate manager code and provide a common application program interface.
Description
The present invention relates to the field of transmission communication networks, and more particularly, to a multi-interface network management system capable of managing various network elements required in a communication network.
Typically, a network management system (NMS) operates in conjunction with an asynchronous transmission mode (ATM) environment and is commonly used for general subscriber services or on-demand video services. The Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) and the like are a communication switching device that performs switching switching in units of ATM cells, and it is known to process all data in units of cells.
즉, 도 1에서 SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol)로 돌아가는 장비들 10-13는 TCP/IP(Transmission Control Protocol /Internet Protocol) 프로토콜 스택(stack) 2을 통해 SNMP매니저 4로 구현이 되어 있었고, CMIP(Common Management Information Protocol)로 돌아가는 장비 20-23는 OSI7(Open System Interconnection 7) 레이어 스택 6을 통해 CMIP 매니저 8로 구현되었다. NMS GUI(Graphic User Interface) 1은 상기 매니저들 4,8에 공통으로 연결된다. The conventional NMS is configured as shown in FIG. A separate manager is configured and implemented for each interface protocol stack. That is, the devices 10-13 returning to Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) in FIG. 1 were implemented as SNMP Manager 4 through Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) protocol stack 2, Devices 20-23 returning to the Common Management Information Protocol were implemented in CMIP Manager 8 through the Open System Interconnection 7 (OSI7) layer stack. NMS Graphic User Interface (GUI) 1 is commonly connected to the managers 4 and 8. Therefore, in the related art, it can be seen that the separate management systems are implemented for each field and thus the association is poor. Therefore, a problem arises that it is difficult to integrate the manager systems respectively implemented.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide an improved multi-interface network management system that can solve the above problems.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a multi-interface network management system capable of integrating a manager system implemented for each communication system.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an interface network management system that allows an application programmer to easily manage various systems in common by integrating heterogeneous network management protocols into one platform.
In order to achieve the above objects, the multi-interface network management system integrates different network management protocols used in various kinds of communication systems into one platform to generate manager code and provide a common application program interface. It is characterized by.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
1 is a system configuration diagram applied to the prior art
도 2 는 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 시스템 구성도2 is a system configuration diagram according to an embodiment of the present invention;
In the following, a preferred embodiment of the present invention for a multi-interface network management system is described in detail.
2 is a block diagram of a multi-interface network management system according to an embodiment of the present invention. First, by implementing the configuration as shown in Figure 2 in the present invention by integrating heterogeneous network management protocol in one platform, the application programmer can easily manage a variety of systems in common. For example, whether the device uses TCP / IP or OSI7, the management interface converts to CMIP. It then writes common manager code based on the transform and provides a common application program interface to the graphical user interface designer. 2, the structure of the task for the management system is shown as a software module. The Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) protocol stack 450 and the Open System Interconnection (OSI) layer stack 460 are connected through the MIS 400.
In FIG. 2, GUI application 205 indicates a graphical user interface application. API interface 210 indicates an application program interface. The PMI application 300 points to the portable management interface. The GUI callback function 200 handles the X events of the server 100. PMI function pool 301 processes each message request. The MIS 400 is a task that handles requests from user applications and events from the protocol stack.
Thus, each implemented manager system is integrated by the task of FIG. 2 described above, and the program language used may use C +, for example.
As described above, the embodiment of the present invention has been described by way of example with reference to the drawings, but various changes and modifications can be made within the scope allowed by the matter.
According to the multi-interface network management system of the present invention described above, by integrating heterogeneous network management protocols into one platform, an application programmer can easily manage various systems in common.
