Description
The present invention relates to an engine control method, and to a control method for various engines including a gas turbine engine.
In the conventional engine control method, the target control signal is compared with the rotational speed signal of magnitude proportional to the rotational speed of the engine, and the error signal is generated. The generated error signal is output as a driving signal of the engine through proportional, integral and derivative control. However, such a proportional-integral-differential control method has shown its limitations in engines, for example, gas turbine engines, which are difficult to identify input / output characteristics. In order to overcome such limitations, a fuzzy control method is introduced. However, such a fuzzy control method shows its limitation when the rotational speed signal from the engine has a very fast phase change.
On the other hand, it is necessary to control so that a target control signal may not exceed the limit value, in case the sensor which produces the engine speed signal breaks. For example, in addition to controlling the amount of fuel to be introduced into the engine according to the rotational speed signal from the sensor, the amount of fuel must also be controlled so as not to exceed the limit. To this end, in the conventional engine control method, the magnitude of the output signal is directly controlled by a separate saturation type function. Accordingly, when there are many input / output variables of the engine and the rotational speed signal has a very fast phase change, the accuracy, precision and stability of the control are problematic.
It is an object of the present invention to provide an engine control method in which an optimum gain for each target control value can be applied.

Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail.
1 shows a gas turbine engine control system according to the present invention. In FIG. 1, dynamic compensation gains Br, Ar, Kr and Ks are set according to a target control value input every cycle. Thus they correspond to the variables of the relevant system equation. Referring to FIG. 1, the first comparison unit 11 subtracts the first and second feedback values from the required thrust signal PLA as a target control value. Here, the first feedback value is a feedback value obtained by multiplying the rotational speed y from the gas turbine engine 17 by the first dynamic compensation gain Br 19. The second feedback value is a feedback value obtained by multiplying the output x of the integration controller 12 by the second dynamic compensation gain Ar 14. The control value x from the first comparison unit 11 is input to the integration control unit 12.
The second feedback unit 15 receives a third feedback value obtained by multiplying the rotational speed y from the gas turbine engine 17 by the third dynamic compensation gain Ks 18. Further, the control value x from the integration controller 12 is multiplied by the fourth dynamic compensation gain Kr 13 and input to the second comparison unit 15. The second comparator 15 subtracts the third feedback value from the control value x multiplied by the fourth dynamic compensation gain Kr 13. The control value from the second comparator 15 is input to the proportional controller 16. The output signal of the proportional control unit 16 is input to the driver of the fuel motor of the gas turbine engine 17 as a result control value.

Applying Equations 1 and 2 sets the entire system equation as shown in Equation 3 below.
In Equation 3, C is a constant. The conditional equation for stabilization of the overall system equation is the same as Equation 4 below, where the positive constants k and α are positive.
When the state equation (Equation 1), the control equation (Equation 2), the overall system equation (Equation 3) and the stabilization condition equation (Equation 4) of the whole system equation to be controlled are set. In accordance with the algorithm shown in FIG. 2, control is performed as described below.
When the required thrust signal (PLA in Fig. 1) as the target control value is input (step 21), the magnitude of the input required thrust signal PLA is adjusted in accordance with the environmental conditions (step 22). The environmental conditions here are the temperature and pressure at the compressor inlet. In addition, the magnitude of the input required thrust signal PLA is substituted into the overall system equation (Equation 3), and the dynamic compensation gains Br, Ar, Kr and Ks that form the overall system equation (Equation 3) are substituted. Set constants (step 23). Next, the optimal dynamic compensation gains Br, Ar, Kr, and Ks for which each state equation can be established by a general optimization method are obtained (step 24). Subsequently, the obtained optimum dynamic compensation gains Br, Ar, Kr and Ks are substituted into the conditional expression of Equation 4 (step 25) to confirm whether or not they are satisfied (step 26). If the conditional expression of Equation 4 is not satisfied, steps 23, 24, 25, and 26 are repeated until the conditional expression is satisfied. When the conditional expression of Equation 4 is satisfied, the value of the input required thrust signal PLA and the dynamic compensation gains Br, Ar, Kr and Ks are substituted into the control equation (Equation 2) (step 27). As a result, the control value is output as the control value of the fuel motor of the gas turbine engine 17 (step 28). The resulting control value is converted into an analog signal to control the driver of the fuel motor.
As described above, according to the engine control method according to the present invention, an optimum compensation gain for each target control value may be applied. Accordingly, even when there are many input / output variables of the engine and the rotational speed signal has a very fast phase change, the accuracy, precision and stability of the control can be improved.
The present invention is not limited to the above embodiments, and modifications and improvements are possible at the level of those skilled in the art.
