본 고안은 자동차의 배기가스 정화용 촉매기에 관한 것으로, 상기 촉매기의 구조를 개선하여 배기가스의 확산시에 와류가 발생되는 것을 방지하므로써 하우징 내의 배압증대를 방지하는 것을 목적으로 하며, 이를 위해, 본 고안은, 하우징과, 상기 하우징 내부의 담체로 구성되어 있으며, 상기 담체와 하우징의 내측부 사이에는 차체의 주행 충격으로부터 담체를 보호하기 위한 완충재가 제공되고, 상기 하우징의 양쪽 측면부에는 깔대기 형상의 배기가스 입구 및 출구가 형성되어 있는 배기가스 정화용 촉매기의 구조로서, 상기 하우징 입구의 외측둘레에 일정한 곡율을 형성하여 단면적의 급격한 증가를 억제시키고, 상기 하우징의 외측 원통부와 상기 입구의 접촉부에 단차를 형성하여 상기 단차부에 완충재를 제공하므로써, 배기가스가 상기 완충재와 직접적으로 접촉하지 못하도록 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 촉매기의 구조를 제공한다.The present invention relates to a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas of an automobile, and aims to prevent back pressure increase in a housing by improving the structure of the catalyst to prevent eddy currents from occurring during diffusion of exhaust gas.
