Description

상완관절 보조장치{Apparatus for assisting shoulder joint}Apparatus for assisting shoulder joint}

The present invention relates to a humeral joint assist device, and more specifically, to a device installed on the head of humerus and glenoid cavity of the shoulder joint to assist the humeral joint.

Referring to Figures 1 and 2, rotator cuff muscles refer to muscles for stabilizing the shoulder joint. This rotator cuff is made up of four muscles: Subscapularis, Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, and Teres minor. Here, the subscapularis, supraspinatus, infraspinatus, and teres minor muscles each have different roots, but they surround the head of the humerus before attaching to the greater tubercle, and are combined into a single tendon before attaching to the greater tubercle. There is.

This structure of the rotator cuff applies a force couple to the humeral joint, contributing to the stability of the humeral joint. In other words, when the humeral joint is viewed from the front, the deltoid muscle and supraspinatus form a pair, and when the humeral joint is viewed from below, the subscapularis, infraspinatus, and teres minor form a paired force.

Recent biomechanical studies have shown that among the humeral joint stability roles of the rotator cuff, rather than serving as a head of humerus depressor, it provides concavity compression between the humeral head and the glenoid, providing a fixed lever for anterior elevation and rotation movements. (Fixed fulcrum) role is becoming more important. However, if the rotator cuff's role in contributing to humeral joint stability is lost due to an extensive rotator cuff tear, the paired force is lost. In this case, the center of rotation of the humeral joint loses stability and moves upward, resulting in findings such as pseudoparesis, which prevents the arm from being raised, and the humeral joint cannot properly perform its functional role. do.

As such, various methods, such as retrograde humeral joint replacement and upper joint capsule reconstruction, are being attempted as treatment for patients with extensive rotator cuff rupture who have lost their role in stabilizing the humeral joint, especially for patients with pseudoparesis who are unable to actively lift the arm. However, because this is a non-anatomical reconstruction method, several problems related to it have been pointed out. Ultimately, the best theoretical treatment method for these patients is to develop a device that can maintain the central axis of rotation of the humeral head, which is one of the most important roles of the rotator cuff.
