Description
The present disclosure relates to bandwidth allocation of a terminal in a wireless communication system.
Recently, the amount of data traffic to be serviced in the wireless network is increasing, and accordingly, the load of the wireless network is also increasing. In particular, since a plurality of terminals are simultaneously connected to a wireless local area network (WLAN) for business, there is a high probability that data traffic is simultaneously generated by the plurality of terminals. Accordingly, in order to provide a stable service for a long time in an environment such as a corporate wireless LAN, a plurality of AP controllers for managing a plurality of access points (APs) have been provided.
The AP controller performs a control function to ensure quality of service (QoS) for traffic sensitive to speed and bandwidth by managing a plurality of terminals and a plurality of APs. To this end, it is very important for the AP controller to accurately distinguish whether the traffic is speed- and bandwidth-sensitive for each traffic.

The AP controller 100 controls and processes a function for dynamically allocating a bandwidth for a terminal connected to each WLAN domain. According to an embodiment, for each WLAN domain, the
2 illustrates a block configuration of an AP controller according to an embodiment. Hereinafter used '… wealth', '… The term 'group' means a unit that processes at least one function or operation, which may be implemented as hardware or software, or a combination of hardware and software.
Referring to FIG. 2 , the AP
The
According to an embodiment, the
According to an embodiment, when the number of access terminals for each WLAN is changed, the dynamic
According to an embodiment, when traffic for a specific terminal is detected, the
When the traffic of a specific terminal is RTP traffic, the
If it is determined that RTP traffic cannot be accommodated using the
In addition, when the RTP session of the terminal to which at least a portion of the
On the other hand, when the traffic of a specific terminal is not RTP traffic, the
4 illustrates an example of processing traffic in an AP controller according to an embodiment.
Referring to FIG. 4 , it is assumed that the types of traffic generated in the WLAN domain are divided into RTP traffic and non-RTP traffic. When traffic is detected in the WLAN domain, the
5 illustrates an operation procedure of allocating a bandwidth in an AP controller according to an embodiment.
Referring to FIG. 5 , the
In
The
Thereafter, the
6 illustrates an operation procedure for processing RTP traffic in an AP controller according to an embodiment. Here, it is assumed that a basic bandwidth is allocated to each terminal as shown in FIG. 5 .
Referring to FIG. 6 , in
If unacceptable traffic is generated with the basic bandwidth allocated to the terminal, the
On the other hand, when the corresponding traffic is RTP traffic, the
If there is no unused bandwidth among bandwidths allocated to other terminals, the
On the other hand, if there is an unused bandwidth among the bandwidths allocated to other terminals, the
In the above description, it has been described that a traffic type is determined based on SIP information and a bandwidth is dynamically allocated based on the determined traffic type. However, the present disclosure as described above can be equally applied to a case of determining a traffic type using a conventionally known Differentiated Service Code Point (DSCP). For example, the AP controller determines whether the traffic is RTP traffic or FTP traffic based on the DSCP value included in the IP header of the traffic. have. In this case, when it is determined that the corresponding RTP traffic cannot be accommodated as the basic bandwidth, the AP controller may additionally allocate at least a portion of the bandwidth unused by other terminals to the corresponding terminal.

The AP controller is configured to process loss of the unprocessable traffic without allocating an additional bandwidth to the first terminal when the unused bandwidth does not exist.
15. The method of claim 14,
The unused bandwidth is an AP controller that is a basic bandwidth allocated to a terminal that does not generate traffic within the domain.
15. The method of claim 14,
If the determined traffic is not RTP traffic, the AP controller for processing the unprocessable traffic as a loss without allocating an additional bandwidth to the first terminal.
13. The method of claim 12,
The at least one processor is configured to compare the information of the generated traffic with information related to the RTP session obtained in advance,
The pre-obtained RTP session-related information is obtained from a session initiation protocol (SIP) message for the first terminal before the traffic is generated.
18. The method of claim 17,
The pre-obtained RTP session related information includes at least one of a source IP address, a destination IP address, a source port, a destination port, and a call identifier.
13. The method of claim 12,
and the at least one processor is configured to determine based on a differentiated service code point (DSCP) included in an IP header of the generated traffic.
