Description
Various embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an electronic device and a method for determining whether an electronic device connection unit is abnormal.
In general, an electronic device is a device that performs a specific function according to a loaded program, such as an electronic notebook, a portable multimedia player, a mobile communication terminal, a tablet PC, an image/sound device, a desktop/laptop computer, a vehicle navigation device, from home appliances. means the device. For example, these electronic devices may output stored information as sound or image. As the degree of integration of electronic devices increases and high-speed and large-capacity wireless communication becomes common, various functions are being mounted in one mobile communication terminal in recent years.
For example, not only communication functions, but also entertainment functions such as games, multimedia functions such as music/video playback, communication and security functions for mobile banking, etc., and functions such as schedule management and electronic wallets are integrated into one electronic device. have.
In addition, electronic devices are provided with various types of connection parts that can be electrically connected to external electronic devices.
When a current flows through a connection part of an electronic device connected to an external electronic device in a state where the connection part is submerged or invaded, or a foreign substance is inserted into the connection part, migration, deposition, corrosion, etc. may occur in the connection part, and the electronic device may be damaged. It may malfunction or damage the internal circuitry of the electronic device.
In addition, when a separate cover is provided on the connection part to prevent moisture from penetrating through the connection part from the outside, there is a disadvantage that the appearance of the product is not beautiful, and the user has to open the cover to use the connection part. I can feel it.
In addition, for example, when an electronic device having a micro USB (universal serial bus) connection unit operates as an OTG (on the go) or USB host function, a power (eg, V_bus pin) for supplying power to an external device is provided. For example, power of 5V) is supplied, so when moisture penetrates into the connection part, corrosion of the connection part may be accelerated. In addition, if the OTG function is removed from the micro USB connection unit to prevent corrosion of the connection unit, or if the user sets the automatic connection for the OTG function to an off state, it is inconvenient to use the OTG function.
In various embodiments of the present invention, for example, in an external device connector including a plurality of connectors having two or more different functions within one physical connector, the measured value of the ID pin for each of the plurality of connectors is measured.
