Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a waterproof connector, and more particularly, to a waterproof connector used in a vehicle wheel speed sensor.
Generally, the vehicle is equipped with a plurality of parts for securing safety. Particularly, one of the parts that is essentially installed to control a vehicle while driving is an anti-lock brake system (ABS).
The ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) is designed to prevent the wheels from being completely locked by braking on slippery roads or repeating locking and unlocking when sudden braking in emergency situations.
The ABS includes an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) for controlling the brakes, a wheel speed sensor (WSS) for sensing the speed of the wheels, a brake switch for detecting the braking force of the brakes, Includes an ABS warning light to inform the driver.
Korean Patent Publication No. 2009-0078970 (Jul. 21, 2009) discloses an automobile wheel speed sensor.
The wheel speed sensor includes a tone wheel and a sensing unit for sensing a signal of the wheel speed by sensing an operation of the tone wheel. The sensing unit is composed of a magnet for generating a magnetic field change by the rotation of the tone wheel, an IC for converting the magnetic field change of the magnet into an electric signal and transmitting it, and a cable and a connector for transmitting the IC signal. At this time, the connector has a structure in which a terminal is pressed on an end portion of a cable when assembled, and then a terminal is attached to the connector housing and is fixed by heating.
The above-described heat and fix type connector causes a decrease in productivity and an increase in production cost because equipment and process for heating the connector housing are added. In addition, since heat is applied, it is not easy to produce a product with uniform performance, and even if a problem occurs in the crimp terminal, it is impossible to replace it. In the process of applying heat, the surface of the plated terminal and the covering of the cable may be deformed or damaged .
Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem [8] Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object thereof is to provide a waterproof connector capable of improving workability and productivity, producing a product having uniform performance, There is a purpose.
To achieve the above object, the waterproof connector according to the present invention comprises a body having a first coupling space for insertion of a plug connector, and an extension part formed at one end of the body and having a second coupling space defined by the coupling space An inner housing coupled to the second coupling space and having a mounting hole for mounting the terminal, a terminal coupled to the mounting hole and a portion of which is exposed to the first coupling space, And an overmold housing surrounding the terminal and a portion of the cable connected to the terminal.
The present invention constructed as described above has a structure in which a terminal provided at an end portion of a cable is installed in a mounting hole of an inner housing and an inner housing including a terminal is coupled to an extended portion of the outer housing. It is possible to improve workability and productivity and reduce production cost. Further, since the terminal is not heated when it is fixed, deformation and damage due to heat can be prevented, and a product with uniform performance can be produced. Particularly, there is an advantage that a problematic part can be easily replaced even when a problem occurs in the process of pressing the cable or in the process of assembling the inner housing.
