Description

Waterproof connector {WATERPROOF CONNECTOR}

The present invention relates to a waterproof connector, and more particularly, to a waterproof connector used in a vehicle wheel speed sensor.

Generally, the vehicle is equipped with a plurality of parts for securing safety. Particularly, one of the parts that is essentially installed to control a vehicle while driving is an anti-lock brake system (ABS).

The ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) is designed to prevent the wheels from being completely locked by braking on slippery roads or repeating locking and unlocking when sudden braking in emergency situations.

The ABS includes an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) for controlling the brakes, a wheel speed sensor (WSS) for sensing the speed of the wheels, a brake switch for detecting the braking force of the brakes, Includes an ABS warning light to inform the driver.

Korean Patent Publication No. 2009-0078970 (Jul. 21, 2009) discloses an automobile wheel speed sensor.

The wheel speed sensor includes a tone wheel and a sensing unit for sensing a signal of the wheel speed by sensing an operation of the tone wheel. The sensing unit is composed of a magnet for generating a magnetic field change by the rotation of the tone wheel, an IC for converting the magnetic field change of the magnet into an electric signal and transmitting it, and a cable and a connector for transmitting the IC signal. At this time, the connector has a structure in which a terminal is pressed on an end portion of a cable when assembled, and then a terminal is attached to the connector housing and is fixed by heating.

The above-described heat and fix type connector causes a decrease in productivity and an increase in production cost because equipment and process for heating the connector housing are added. In addition, since heat is applied, it is not easy to produce a product with uniform performance, and even if a problem occurs in the crimp terminal, it is impossible to replace it. In the process of applying heat, the surface of the plated terminal and the covering of the cable may be deformed or damaged .

Korean Patent Publication No. 2009-0078970 (2009.07.21.)

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring to the accompanying drawings, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

A waterproof connector 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention is a receptacle connector type connector that is coupled with a plug connector (not shown). That is, the waterproof connector 100 according to the present embodiment is a female connector having a space in which a plug connector (not shown) is inserted.

The waterproof connector 100 according to the present embodiment includes outer housings 110 and 120, an inner housing 130 coupled to a rear end of the outer housings 110 and 120, A cable 150 connected to the terminal 140 and an over mold housing 160 surrounding a rear end portion of the outer housings 110 and 120.

The outer housings 110 and 120 are formed in a multi-stage structure including a body 110 and an extension 120 formed at a rear end of the body 110. A first engagement space 112 is formed in the body 110 to receive a plug connector (not shown). A second engagement space 122 is formed in the extension 120 to receive the inner housing 130. . At this time, the first engagement space 112 and the second engagement space 122 are separated into separate spaces by the rear surface of the body 110.

A fixing groove 114 for fixing the outer housings 110 and 120 to a mold (not shown) is formed on the lower surface of the body 110 when the overmold housing 160 is formed. When the fixing grooves 114 are used, the outer housings 110 and 120 are fixed to the mold, so that the shape and dimensions of the overmolded housing 160 can be uniformly formed.

A sealing jaw 124 is formed around the front end side of the extension 120 and a locking hole 126 is formed behind the sealing jaw 124. The sealing jaw 124 is for preventing foreign matter including moisture from flowing between the extension 120 and the overmolded housing 160 and has a ring shape protruding along the periphery of the extension 120. The latching hole 126 prevents the inner housing 130 mounted in the second engagement space 122 from being separated from the inner housing 130. The latching hole 126 has a shape corresponding to the latching protrusion 135 formed on the inner housing 130, (135) can be inserted and fixed.

Although not shown in the drawing, a guide groove (not shown) for guiding the engagement of the inner housing 130 is formed in the extension 120. When the inner housing 130 is engaged, the guide protrusion 136 moves along the guide groove (not shown) and guides the coupling direction.

The inner housing 130 is formed in a rectangular parallelepiped shape insertable into the second engagement space 122. A mounting hole 131 in which the terminal 140 is installed is formed in the inner housing 130. The mounting hole 131 is formed to penetrate the inner housing 130 in the front-rear direction. In this embodiment, the mounting holes 131 are illustrated as a pair in which the mounting holes 131 are arranged in parallel. However, the mounting holes 131 are not necessarily limited to the same number as the necessary number of terminals.

A stop jaw 132 and a fixing jaw 133 are formed in the mounting hole 131. The detent jaw 132 is a portion where the upper surface of the terminal 140 and the protrusion 147 formed on the side surface are in contact with each other and serves to prevent the terminal 140 from being inserted in the reverse direction. The fixing jaw 133 is inserted into the fixing hole 148 formed in the lower surface of the terminal 140 and serves to prevent the terminal 140 provided in the mounting hole 131 from being separated.

A cantilever-shaped elastic piece 134 is extended from a lower surface of the inner housing 130 and a latch 135 is formed at an end of the elastic piece 134. The resilient piece 134 and the engaging jaw 135 prevent the inner housing 130 mounted in the second engaging space 122 from being separated arbitrarily. More specifically, the elastic piece 134 is deformed so that the engaging jaw 135 can be inserted into the engaging hole 126 when the inner housing 130 is engaged, and the engaging jaw 135 is engaged with the engaging hole 126, It is returned to the initial state so that the latching jaw 135 does not come off from the latching hole 126. Further, the latching jaw 135 is inserted into the latching hole 126 to prevent the inner housing 130 from being separated arbitrarily.

Guide projections 136 are formed on both side surfaces of the inner housing 130. As described above, the guide protrusion 136 moves along the guide groove (not shown) when the inner housing 130 is engaged, and guides the coupling direction of the inner housing 130.

The terminal 140 is a pin terminal inserted into a socket terminal (not shown) when the plug connector (not shown) is engaged. The terminal 140 includes a pin 142 to be inserted into a socket terminal (not shown), a fixing portion 144 to which the cable 150 is pressed, a connection portion (146).

The pin 142 of the terminal 140 protrudes into the first engagement space 112 through the rear surface of the body 110 and is inserted into a socket terminal (not shown) when the plug connector (not shown) is engaged. The upper surface and the side surface of the connection part 146 are provided with a reverse insertion preventing protrusion 147 contacting the stop jaw 132. A terminal 140 protruding from the lower surface of the connection part 146, Preventing hole 148 is formed.

The cable 150 that is pressed against the fixed portion 144 of the terminal 140 is a conventional cable comprising a conductor 152 and a covering 154 wrapping around the conductor 152.

The overmolded housing 160 is for preventing foreign matter including moisture from flowing into the inside of the waterproof connector 100. The overmolded housing 160 is molded to surround the rear end of the outer housings 110 and 120, that is, the extended portion 120. More specifically, after the terminal 140 with the cable 150 being compressed is installed in the inner housing 130, the inner housing 130 having the terminal 140 is assembled to the outer housings 110 and 120 The extension portion 120, the terminal 140, and the cable 150, as shown in FIG.
