Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an LED lighting device, and more particularly, to a dimming type LED lighting device having an electrolytic capacitorless power supply device for eliminating an electrolytic capacitor to improve the lifetime.
Generally, the AC power supply has a switching mode power supply (SMPS) and a linear power supply. In most fields such as home appliances, computers, and communication devices, SMPS system is mainly used.
In recent years, the demand for LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting has been rapidly increasing, and LED lighting using SMPS devices has been widely developed.
The driving voltage (Vf) of the LED is low and the driving current (If) must be increased to make a lighting device having a high output. Further, since a lighting device requires less flicker, a large capacity capacitor shall.
By the way, 15% of the power consumption of the LED turns into light, and the remaining 85% turns into heat, which rapidly increases the ambient temperature.
In addition, there is a restriction that a power supply circuit such as an LED and a SMPS must be mounted together in a relatively small-sized lighting apparatus, resulting in a defect in the power supply circuit and LED due to heat generated by the LED and the power supply circuit. Recalls are continuing due to fire and electric shock accidents.
In addition, since the lifetime of the LED is about 35,000 hours due to the above-described heat generation, the life span of the SMPS is often less than 20,000 hours. According to the report of the Department of Energy (DOE) 2012, About one-fourth of LED lights fail within 1,000 hours, and these failures are known to occur mainly in electrolytic capacitors of SMPS.
In order to solve the above problem, there is an attempt to isolate the SMPS and LED from each other or to use a solid capacitor instead of an electrolytic capacitor. However, the problem that the application of such a method is difficult and the price is expensive There were difficulties in commercialization.
Fig. 1 is a circuit diagram showing a general boosted SMPS. As shown in Fig. 1, a full-
When the switch SW11 is turned on, current flows in the order of the
The output voltage thus generated is outputted and supplied to the
As described above, the switch SW11 is periodically turned on / off to generate a pulse-like DC voltage and supply it to the
FIG. 2 is a circuit diagram showing a general SMPS of a buck type. As shown in the figure, a full-
When the switch SW21 is turned on, current flows to the inductor L21, energy is accumulated, and the current is rectified through the diode D22 to increase the current through the electrolytic capacitor C21 and the
When the switch SW21 is turned off, the diode D21 rectifies the inductor current, which is the energy stored in the inductor L21, through the diode D22 to create a path for flowing through the electrolytic capacitor C21 and the
In this manner, the switch SW21 is periodically turned on / off to generate a pulse-like DC voltage, and the DC voltage is supplied to the
1 and 2, in order to supply power to the
As in the two circuits shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the conventional SMPS checks the output voltage and adjusts the on / off switching of the switches SW11 and SW21 according to the check result to adjust the output voltage constant give.
However, in the case of the
In the case of an LED bulb, the internal temperature rises to about 85 ° C, which is about 60 ° C higher than the ambient temperature of 25 ° C, which causes thermal runaway and consumes more current than the design, and the electrolytic capacitors C11 and C21 The ripple currents of the electrolytic capacitors C11 and C21 also exceed the allowable values.

The

As shown in FIG. 5, when 110AC is input, I1 becomes smaller and Ia becomes larger. When 220VAC is input, I1 becomes larger and Ia becomes smaller. The waveform value of the reference voltage Vref is changed by this value (Vin vs. Vb is measured in inverse proportion) (Fig. 6).

Accordingly, the second
As a result, a DC current component having passed through the

The first
This operation can produce a spurious close DC LED current while maintaining minimal power dissipation. That is, only the AC ripple from the power source of the
