Generally, a power assist steering apparatus is used as a means for reducing the steering force of a steering wheel (steering wheel) and ensuring the stability of a steering state. In such a power assist steering apparatus, a hydraulic steering (HPS Steering System has been widely used in vehicles. Recently, environment friendly Motor Driven Power Steering (MDPS) system has been installed in the vehicle to assist the steering of the driver by using the torque of the motor.
The MDPS system drives a motor in an electronic control unit (ECU) according to the driving conditions of the vehicle sensed by the vehicle speed sensor, the angle sensor, and the torque sensor, thereby providing a light and comfortable steering feeling at low speeds, Provides a good steering stability in addition to a heavy steering feeling and provides a restoring force of a steerable steering wheel according to a steering angle of the steering wheel to provide a steerable steering in an emergency situation to provide an optimum steering condition to the driver.
이러한 MDPS 시스템은 전동 모터의 장착 위치에 따라 C-MDPS(Column Type Motor Driven Power Steering) 시스템과, P-MDPS(Pinion Type Motor Driven Power Steering) 시스템, R-MDPS(Rack Type Motor Driven Power Steering) 시스템으로 분류할 수 있다.The MDPS system can be classified into a C-MDPS (Column Type Motor Driven Power Steering) system, a P-MDPS (Pinion Type Motor Driven Power Steering) system, a R-MDPS .

Therefore, when a slip phenomenon occurs in the belt due to a long-term use or an intense handle operation, ) Is broken and the thus-broken protruding pieces are introduced into the R-MDPS system, which causes a problem of steering lock.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In order to solve the problems of the conventional art as described above, the present invention detects a slip phenomenon in a belt that transmits a driving force of a motor to a rack bar in an R-MDPS system, The present invention also provides a safety device for an R-MDPS system and a method of operating the R-MDPS system, which prevent damage to the belt protrusion and prevent the steering wheel from being locked.

1 is a block diagram of a safety device of an R-MDPS system according to an embodiment of the present invention.
1, the safety device of the R-MDPS system according to the present invention includes a
First, the
Generally, when the slip phenomenon does not occur in the belt that transmits the driving force of the motor to the rack bar, the load is applied to the motor and normally operates. However, when the slip phenomenon occurs, And the RPM increases.
Based on this principle, the reference table records the reference RPM of the motor for each driver's torque. For example, when the torque is 3 Nm, it stores 2,500 RPM at the corresponding reference RPM.
In another embodiment, a table in which motor torque corresponding to the driver's torque is recorded is stored in the
The motor
The driver's
The
When the slip phenomenon occurs, the
In addition, the
On the other hand, when the slip phenomenon occurs, the
The

Although not shown in the drawing, a motor

(305).Thereafter, it is determined whether the target RPM exceeds the reference RPM (305).

If the comparison result (305) indicates that the target RPM does not exceed the reference RPM, it is determined that the slip phenomenon does not occur (307). That is, it is judged as normal.
Through this process, the slip phenomenon can be detected on the belt that transmits the driving force of the motor to the rack bar in the R-MDPS system, and the driver can be notified of the slip phenomenon, thereby enabling the safe operation.
