Abstract
본 발명은 자외선 노광을 통한 산화 그래핀 및 이의 제조 방법에 관한 것으로서, 좀 더 자세하게는, 그래핀을 자외선 노광시켜서 산화 그래핀을 제작하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 자외선 노광을 통해 제작된 산화 그래핀은 기존의 산처리 과정 등의 위험성과, 장시간 처리해야 하는 문제점을 해결하였으며, 그래핀이 산화되면서 세정 효과도 볼 수 있다. 또한, 노광 시간의 변화를 통해 산소의 함유량을 변화시킴으로써 다양한 밴드갭을 가진 흑연 기반의 물질을 제작할 수 있다.
Description
본 발명은 자외선 노광을 통한 산화 그래핀 및 이의 제조 방법에 관한 것이다.
최근 그래핀이 갖는 독특한 양자적, 물리적 성질과 우수한 전하이동도 등이 부각되면서 그래핀은 탄소 나노튜브의 위치를 위협하는 새로운 나노소재로 부각되고 있다. 그래핀은 구리보다 100배 이상 전기가 잘 통하고, 반도체로 주로 쓰이는 단결정 실리콘보다 100배 이상 전자를 빠르게 이동시킬 수 있다. 강도는 강철보다 200배 이상 강하며, 최고의 열전도성을 자랑하는 다이아몬드보다 2배 이상 열전도성이 높다. 또 탄성이 뛰어나 늘리거나 구부려도 전기적 성질을 잃지 않는다.
한편, 그래핀은 전기전도성이 우수한 반면 산화그래핀은 절연체 성질을 나타낸다. 이러한 산화그래핀을 제조하는 종래 기술로는 강산으로 그래핀을 처리하는 것이 일반적이었다. 특히, 그래파이트를 H2SO4, KMnO4, HCl 및 HNO3 으로 이루어진 군에서 선택되는 산으로 처리하여 산화그래핀을 만드는 방법(한국공개특허 제 10-2010-0078444호 참조)이 개시되어 있는데, 이러한 방법은 그래핀 층수의 제어가 상대적으로 어렵고 그레인의 크기가 상대적으로 작기 때문에 연속적인 필름을 만드는 것이 어렵다. 또한 강산 처리 과정에서의 위험성과, 장시간 처리해야 하는 문제점 등이 있었다.
본 발명의 목적은, 자외선 노광을 통해 발생하는 오존으로 산화 그래핀을 제작하는 방법 및 이로 제조된 산화그래핀을 제공하는 것이다.
일 구체예에서, 그래핀을 자외선으로 노광시켜서 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법을 제공하고, 상기 구체예에서, 자외선 노광은 160~200nm 파장으로 노광시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법을 제공하며, 상기 구체예에서, 자외선 노광은 180~190nm 파장으로 노광시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법을 제공하며, 상기 구체예에서, 자외선 노광은 그래핀을 185 nm의 파장으로 자외선 노광시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법을 제공하며, 상기 구체예에서, 그래핀을 자외선 노광시키는 시간은 3~10분인 것을 특징으로 하는 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법을 제공한다.
이때, 그래핀을 산화시키는 이유는 기존의 방법과는 달리 파우더(powder)가 아닌 시트(sheet) 형태로써, 이미 만들어진 그래핀의 구조를 그대로 유지할 수 있기 때문이다.
일 구체예에서, 그래핀을 자외선으로 노광처리한 산화 그래핀을 제공하고, 상기 구체예에서, 그래핀을 160~200nm 파장에서 자외선으로 노광 처리한 산화 그래핀을 제공한다.
자외선 노광을 통해 제작된 산화 그래핀은 기존의 산 처리 과정 등의 위험성과, 장시간 처리해야 하는 문제점을 해결하였으며, 그래핀이 산화되면서 세정 효과도 볼 수 있다. 또한, 노광 시간의 변화를 통해 산소의 함유량을 변화시킴으로써 다양한 밴드갭을 가진 흑연 기반의 물질을 제작할 수 있다.
도1은, 그래핀과 UV 노광을 이용한 산화 그래핀, 강산으로 처리한 일반적인 방법에 의해 제작된 산화 그래핀의 XPS(X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) 측정 결과이다.
도2는, 자외선 노광 시간에 따른 그래핀 박막과 강산으로 처리한 일반적 방법에 의해 제작된 Raman 스펙트럼이다.
도3은, 자외선 노광 시간에 따른 그래핀 박막의 저항 변화를 측정한 것이다.
도4는, 그래핀의 자외선 노광전후 AFM(atomic force microscopy)의 측정결과이다.
도2는, 자외선 노광 시간에 따른 그래핀 박막과 강산으로 처리한 일반적 방법에 의해 제작된 Raman 스펙트럼이다.

이하, 본 발명의 구성요소와 기술적 특징을 다음의 실시예들을 통하여 보다 상세하게 설명하고자 한다. 그러나 하기 실시예들은 본 발명의 내용을 예시하는 것일 뿐 발명의 범위가 실시예에 의해 한정되는 것은 아니다. 본 발명에서 인용된 문헌은 본 발명의 명세서에 참조로서 통합된다.

제조
그래핀 필름을 성장시키기 위해 Cu 포일을 퍼니스에 넣고 온도가 1000℃에 이를 때까지 수소 분위기에서 환원시킨 후, 저압에서 메탄을 카본 소스로 제공하여 약 10여분간 그래핀의 성장을 시도하였다. 이렇게 성장된 그래핀 필름은 약 5%의 면적을 제외하고 전 면적에서 단일층 그래핀으로 이루어짐을 라만 신호 및 전자현미경(TEM)분석을 통해 확인할 수 있었으며 이미 알려진 FeNO3 용액을 이용, 절연성 기판에 올려 소자로 제작할 수 있었다. 그래핀 소자는 전하이동도가 4500cm2/Vs 에 달하는 우수한 소자 특성을 보임을 확인하였다.

상기 실시예 1을 통하여 제조된 단일층의 그래핀을 자외선 노광장치에 넣고 245nm 파장 및 28.7mJ/cm2s의 조건에서 UV를 쬐었다. 시간은 1, 3, 5, 7 및 9분을 노광하여 저항의 변화를 관찰하였다.

효과 측정
자외선 노광 전후의 XPS(X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy)를 측정한 결과 노광 전의 결합에너지 영역을 보면 탄소의 1s 피크가 나타나 있지만, 노광 후에는 산소를 가지고 있는 기능기의 분율이 증가하였으며 이를 강산에 처리한 산화그래핀과 비교하였다(도 1 참조).
다음으로 시간별로 처리한 그래핀의 Raman 스펙트럼을 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과, 시간이 지남에 따라 일반적으로 강산에 처리한 산화그래핀과 동등한 형태로 그래핀의 D-band가 증가하였다.
또한, 저항의 변화를 관찰한 결과, 저항값이 초기에 크게 증가하다가 점차 포화된 후, 다시 증가하는 양상을 가졌다(도 3 참조).
그래핀의 자외선 노광 전 후 AFM(atomic force microscopy)의 측정은 노광 후 표면의 변화를 나타내는데, 노광되기 전의 표면은 그래핀의 표면에 작은 입자들이 많았으나, 자외선 처리 후에는 이러한 부분들이 많이 제거된, 깨끗한 표면이 보이는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 노광 전후의 그래핀이 산화되면서 세정 효과가 있다는 것을 알 수 있다(도4 참조).
지금까지 예시적인 실시 태양을 참조하여 본 발명을 기술하여 왔지만, 본 발명의 속하는 기술 분야의 당업자는 본 발명의 범주를 벗어나지 않고서도 다양한 변화를 실시할 수 있으며 그의 요소들을 등가물로 대체할 수 있음을 알 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 본 발명의 본질적인 범주를 벗어나지 않고서도 많은 변형을 실시하여 특정 상황 및 재료를 본 발명의 교시내용에 채용할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 발명이 본 발명을 실시하는데 계획된 최상의 양식으로서 개시된 특정 실시 태양으로 국한되는 것이 아니며, 본 발명이 첨부된 특허청구의 범위에 속하는 모든 실시 태양을 포함하는 것으로 해석되어야 한다.

- 제 1항에 있어서,
자외선 노광은 160~200nm 파장으로 노광시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법 - 제 1항에 있어서,
자외선 노광은 180~190nm 파장으로 노광시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법. - 제 1항에 있어서,
자외선 노광은 그래핀을 185nm의 파장으로 자외선 노광시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법. - 제 1항에 있어서,
그래핀을 자외선 노광시키는 시간은 3~10분인 것을 특징으로 하는 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법. - 그래핀을 자외선으로 노광 처리하여 에폭시드 기능기의 분율이 자외선 노광 처리 이전 보다 증가된 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법.
- 제 6항에 있어서,
그래핀을 160~220nm 파장에서 자외선으로 노광 처리하는 것을 특징으로 하는 에폭시드 기능기의 분율이 자외선 노광 처리 이전 보다 증가된 산화 그래핀을 제조하는 방법.
