Description
The present invention relates to a camera module and a method of manufacturing the same that can reduce the size of the camera module and shorten the manufacturing process.
In general, the camera module can be applied to portable electronic devices such as a mobile phone, a digital camera, a camcorder, and a portable multimedia player. Due to the development of digital camera technology and information storage capacity, the mounting of high specification camera module is becoming common.
The camera module may include a lens module, an image sensor package, and a printed circuit board. The image sensor package is mounted on a printed circuit board by solder balls. Passive elements are mounted on the printed circuit board outside the solder ball.
Since the passive element is disposed outside the solder ball, the printed circuit board becomes larger than the installation area of the passive element. Therefore, there may be a limit in reducing the size of the camera module.
In addition, a reflow process in which passive elements are bonded to a printed circuit board, a solder ball disposed between the image sensor package and the printed circuit board, and a reflow process in which the image sensor package and the printed circuit board are bonded are provided. Is performed. Therefore, since the camera module is manufactured by two reflow processes and a process of arranging solder balls, the manufacturing process of the camera module is increased and passive devices may be damaged by high temperature reflow processes.
