Description
The present invention relates to a cage that can adjust the intervertebral distance, and eliminates the difficulty of insertion when the cage is inserted after removal of the vertebrae, and can respond to various intervertebral distances, as well as the contact angle can be changed when contacting adjacent vertebrae The present invention relates to a cage that can be stably fixed.
Cage is a medical device used in orthopedic and neurosurgery. When one vertebra is removed and partially incision due to a tumor, the disc is removed between the vertebra and the vertebra and used instead of the disc or resected. It is a medical device to replace the vertebrae after.
The spine is divided into 24 vertebrae, including the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebrae, and a disc exists between the vertebrae and the vertebrae.
In spinal tumor surgery, after removing the invasive vertebrae, the fusion is achieved using cages, autologous bones, and artificial bones. It can be placed at the site of vertebral removal.
The cage inserted between the vertebrae and the vertebrae is used instead of the vertebrae after removal of the vertebrae, so it must be fused with other vertebrae to be fixed with the surrounding vertebrae. Of course, it should be maintained while acting as a vertebra as long as possible.
Frequently, cages or bone cements that replace the vertebrae are detached and not retained before fusion or for a period of time. Therefore, there is a need for the development of a method in which these materials can be firmly fixed to adjacent vertebral bodies.
Cages used when the vertebrae themselves need to be removed due to tumors, etc., come in many forms. This is because the size and shape of the vertebrae differ from person to person. That is, because the size and shape of the vertebrae are different and the heights of the vertebrae adjacent to the portions from which the vertebrae are removed after the vertebral removal vary, a cage corresponding thereto is required.
Therefore, there arises a problem that the height of the cage in place of the vertebrae should be varied.
In addition, the surfaces of adjacent vertebrae do not maintain a plane with each other, and angles formed by the surfaces of adjacent vertebral bodies differ for each person. Therefore, in the cage of the prior art, since it does not correspond to the surface of the adjacent vertebral body, only a part of the tip of the cage comes into contact with the surface of the vertebral body. Therefore, there is a fear that the weight is damaged because the load is concentrated only on a part of the cage.
