액체 속에 현탁 된 크고,작은 고형물을 액체와 분리하기 위한 회전드럼(1)의 드럼축(2)에 풀리(3)를 고정하고 모터에 의해서 회전하는 모터축(4)에 고정된 풀리(5)와 벨트(6)로 연결하여 구성된 슬러지 원심분리기에 있어서,
상기 회전드럼(1)을 저속으로 구동시키기 위하여 드럼축(2)에 대형기어(10)가 고정되고, 감속모터(11)에 의해서 회전하는 스플라인축(12)에 소형 클러치기어(13)가 결합되어 실린더(15) 및 작동로드(14)에 의해서 소형 클러치기어(13)가 대형기어(10)와 연결 또는 분리되게 구성되며,
상기 회전드럼(1)의 내부에는 슬러지를 제거하기 위한 스크레이퍼(20)의 지지대(21)가 베이스 프레임(22)에 설치되어 스크레이퍼(20)가 회전드럼의 내벽에 밀착 또는 분리되게 실린더(24)에 의해서 작동하는 아암(23)과 연결된 것을 특징으로 하는 슬러지 원심분리기.
