The present invention relates to a telephone having a message transmitting / receiving function. Particularly, when a calling terminal sets the 'acknowledgement mode' to transmit a message, the receiving terminal receives the acknowledgment after determining whether to set the 'acknowledgement mode'. The present invention relates to a method for transmitting and receiving a message in a terminal, so that a caller can know a message of a receiver by notifying the calling terminal.

Generally, telephones are classified into landline telephones using a public switched telephone network (PSTN) as a communication terminal and mobile telephones using a wireless data network. It has evolved to be able to transmit and receive text data.

The present invention relates to a method for transmitting and receiving messages in a terminal, but for convenience of description, a short message (short message service, hereinafter referred to as SMS) will be described as an example.

The present invention relates to a mobile phone capable of transmitting and receiving SMS regardless of a mobile telephone or a landline telephone, but is described using a mobile telephone as an example.

1 is a schematic block diagram of a network for general SMS transmission and reception.

As shown in Fig. 1, an exchange station 120 performing a switching function is located as one component of a mobile communication network. The switching center 120 is networked with the mobile telephones 100 and 180 by wireless data networks 110 and 160.

The exchange server 120 is connected to the SMS server 140. The SMS server 140 recognizes and stores SMS data received from the mobile phone 100 (hereinafter, also referred to as a 'caller terminal' or a 'caller terminal' or a 'caller terminal'). The SMS data is transmitted to the mobile telephone 180 (hereinafter, also referred to as a "receiver side terminal" or "receiving side terminal" or "receiving terminal").

The receiver side terminal 180 is connected to the switching center 120 by the wireless data network 160. The receiver terminal 180 is a mobile telephone, as shown in FIG.

On the other hand, the calling terminal 100 and the receiving terminal 180 is a mobile phone, but may be configured as a wired telephone, in this case, the wireless data network (110, 160) is composed of a public telephone network Will be.

In addition, when the calling terminal 100 is a mobile phone and the receiving terminal 180 is a wired phone or vice versa, a gateway device that is a protocol conversion device because the communication protocols of the wireless data network and the public telephone network are different. Not shown).

However, the following problems are raised in the SMS data transmission and reception process according to the prior art.

In the conventional SMS transmission and reception, when the sender sends SMS data, whether the SMS server 140 successfully sent the message (that is, 'the message transmission was successful' or 'the message transmission failed') Only the telegraph forwards to the calling terminal 100. That is, according to the prior art, the user of the calling terminal 100 can only know whether the transmission message was successfully transmitted to the receiver.

Therefore, conventionally, there is no way of knowing whether or not the receiver receives and acknowledges the message after the sender sends the SMS data.

That is, according to the prior art, a message sender has a problem that the SMS data has been successfully transmitted but it is not possible to know whether the receiver has confirmed the received message thereafter.

In particular, when the next action of the sender is determined according to whether the recipient acknowledged the message, the caller's confirmation of receipt of the outgoing SMS message is further required.

For example, for one-to-many transmissions such as group texting, which has recently increased in use, it is difficult for a sender of a message to follow up if an outgoing SMS message acknowledgment is not possible. There is a growing need to distinguish between people who have read and unread messages.

In the case of an urgent message, if the sender does not know whether the recipient has acknowledged the receipt of the message, the message is frequently transmitted repeatedly even after the message is transmitted, resulting in time and economic loss. The problem arises.

The present invention was created to solve the problems of the prior art as described above, and an object of the method for transmitting and receiving a message in a terminal according to the present invention is that a receiving terminal receives a received message when it transmits a message by setting a 'acknowledgment mode'. After the terminal recognizes the 'acknowledgement mode' is to provide a terminal that implements a function for notifying the acknowledgment to the calling party.

In order to achieve the above object, a method of transmitting and receiving a message in a terminal according to the present invention includes a first step of transmitting and setting a message 'acknowledgement mode' in a message transmission mode, and a 'acknowledgement mode' is set in a received message. And a third step of determining whether there is a 'acknowledgement mode' by the second step, and transmitting a 'scheduled text' to the calling terminal. .

According to the above configuration, the calling terminal user who has transmitted the message data has an advantage of knowing whether the receiving terminal user has confirmed the message.

In the method of transmitting and receiving a message in the terminal according to the present invention, if it is determined that the 'acknowledgement mode' is set after performing the second step, the step 2-1 of selecting whether to notify the caller to the calling terminal is further performed. It is characterized by including the configuration.

According to the above configuration, there is an advantage that the receiver can select whether or not to respond to the caller's acknowledgment request.

The message transmission and reception method in the terminal according to the present invention is characterized in that the setting of the 'acknowledgement mode' is implemented by setting the priority of a field to urgent or emergency. do.

According to the configuration as described above, there is an advantage that can set the "acknowledgement mode" by a simple configuration.

In the method of transmitting and receiving a message in the terminal according to the present invention, the setting of the message 'acknowledgement mode' is characterized in that the acknowledgment mode shortcut key is performed.

According to the above configuration, there is an advantage that the message 'reception mode' can be set by a simple button operation of the keypad.

In the terminal according to the present invention, the method for transmitting and receiving a message is characterized in that the transmission of the 'scheduled text' to the calling terminal in the third step is automatically transmitted when it is determined as the 'acknowledgement mode' in the second step. It is done.

According to the configuration as described above, there is an advantage that can easily and quickly send the acknowledgment to the sender side.

The message transmission and reception method in the terminal according to the present invention is characterized in that the transmission of the 'scheduled text' to the calling terminal in the third step is performed by a 'acknowledge notification short function key'.

According to the configuration as described above, there is an advantage that can transmit the 'scheduled character' to the calling terminal by a simple button operation of the keypad.

The following will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings a preferred embodiment of a method for transmitting and receiving messages in the present invention terminal.

In the present embodiment, the message transmitted and received is an SMS message.

2 is a schematic block diagram of a mobile terminal for message acknowledgment according to an embodiment of the present invention.

The configuration of the telephone shown in FIG. 2 is a configuration common to both the calling terminal 100 or the receiving terminal 180 of FIG.

As illustrated in FIG. 2, the telephone 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention is provided with a radio frequency (RF) transceiver 220. The RF transceiver 220 receives an RF signal input through the wireless data networks 110 and 160 or transmits SMS data to be transmitted to the wireless data networks 110 and 160 by loading SMS data to be transmitted.

The modulation and demodulation unit 222 is connected to the RF transceiver 220. The demodulation unit 222 demodulates an RF signal input from the RF transceiver 220 or modulates a data signal to be sent to the RF transceiver 220.

The signal discriminating unit 224 is connected to the modulation / demodulation unit 222. The signal discriminator 224 receives the signal input to the RF transceiver 220 to determine whether it is a voice call signal or an SMS data signal.

A switch unit 226 is connected to the signal discriminating unit 224. The switch unit 226 switches to the following voice call unit 228 when the voice call signal is controlled by the control signal of the signal discriminating unit 224 and to the following data processor 218 when the SMS signal is received.

The data processor 218 and the voice call unit 228 are connected to the switch unit 226, respectively. The data processor 218 modulates and demodulates the SMS data transmitted and received under the control of the controller 210 described below using frequency shift keying (FSK). The data processor 218 is implemented by a DSP (Digital Signal Porcessor).

The controller 210 is connected to the data processor 218. The controller 210 sets the SMS 'acknowledgement mode' and determines whether the received message is the SMS 'acknowledgement mode'.

The 'acknowledgment mode' is a mode for confirming whether the caller confirms receipt of the message by the sender, and the field is controlled by the control unit 210 by the 'acknowledge mode' shortcut in the keypad unit 214. It is set by setting the priority of the field to 'urgent' or 'emergency'. The priority of the field includes normal, urgent, and emergency.

In addition, the controller 210 controls all the components of the phone. The controller 110 is implemented by a mobile station modem (MSM).

The memory unit 212 is also connected to the controller 210. The memory unit 212 stores the text data received under the control of the controller 110, and stores the 'scheduled text', for example, 'received the message' to be transmitted or not under the control of the controller 210. do.

In addition, the keypad 210 is connected to the controller 210. The keypad unit 214 sets the 'acknowledgement mode' and inputs the contents of the SMS message. In addition, the keypad unit 214 is provided with a function key (not shown) for setting the 'acknowledgement mode' and a 'receipt confirmation notification short function key' (not shown) for transmitting a predetermined text to the calling terminal. have.

The display unit 216 is connected to the controller 210. The display unit 216 displays a character input by the keypad unit 214 and displays whether the 'reception mode' is currently set.

Next, an operation process according to an embodiment of a message reception acknowledgment method in an SMS phone having the above configuration will be described.

3 is a flowchart of a message acknowledgment method in a calling terminal for message acknowledgment according to the present invention.

First, the caller enters the SMS call mode using the keypad 214 for SMS text transmission (step 310). The caller who enters the SMS text sending mode enters the recipient number to which the SMS is to be sent using the keypad 214, and then inputs the message content. When the caller inputs the message content by the keypad unit 214, the controller 9210 recognizes this and displays the message on the display unit 216 (step 312).

When the input of the message content is completed (step 314), the controller 210 recognizing the completion of the message input of the caller, through the display unit 216 whether to set the SMS 'acknowledgement mode'.

When it is displayed on the display unit 216 whether or not to set the 'acknowledgement mode' under the control of the control unit 210, when the caller wants to send the SMS to the 'acknowledgement mode', the 'reception' of the keypad unit 214 Confirmation mode 'Shortcut function key (not shown) is used to set the' acknowledgement mode 'for SMS text transmission.

When the 'reception mode' shortcut key is pressed, the field 'priority' is set to urgent or emergency and the 'reception mode' is set. That is, the priority of the field is normal, urgent, and emergency, and the acknowledgment mode is set by setting the emergency or express in the priority field among the priorities. It is set (step 318).

After setting the SMS 'acknowledgement mode', the sender presses an SMS transmission button to transmit a message to a receiving terminal (step 320).

The following describes the acknowledgment notification process at the receiving terminal that has received the SMS message in which the 'acknowledgement mode' is set as described above.

4 is a flowchart of a message acknowledgment method in a receiving terminal for message acknowledgment according to the present invention.

When the SMS message is received from the calling terminal 100 (step 410), the user of the receiving terminal device enters the SMS receiving mode by using a message receiving confirmation button (not shown) of the keypad unit 214 (412). step).

Upon entering the SMS reception mode and checking the content of the message, the controller 210 of the receiving terminal recognizes the priority field of the received message and determines whether the received message mode is set in the received message (416). step).

As a result of operation 416, the controller 210 recognizing that the 'acknowledgement mode' is set in the received message, displays on the display unit 216 whether to notify the sender of the acknowledgment. That is, in step 418, the receiver can select whether to respond to the caller's acknowledgment request (step 418).

When the caller selects an acknowledgment notification in step 418, the controller 210 recognizes the read notification and reads the 'scheduled character' stored in the memory unit 212. The control unit 210 reading the 'scheduled character' stored in the memory unit 212 transmits the 'scheduled character' to the calling terminal 100 through the modulator / demodulator 222 and the RF transceiver 220. (Step 420). And, as described above, the 'scheduled character' may be composed of, for example, 'message confirmed.'

After the acknowledgment is transmitted in step 420, a normal message acknowledgment procedure, for example, message deletion / preservation, is performed (step 422).

As described above, the present invention sets a priority in the priority field to transmit a message set in the 'acknowledgement mode', and the receiving terminal receiving the message in which the 'acknowledgement mode' is set is the 'acknowledgement mode'. It is a technical feature that the acknowledgment notification is transmitted to the caller terminal by recognizing that is set.

One embodiment of the present invention describes a message acknowledgment method in SMS transmission to a mobile phone, but is not limited to this, and of course, if the phone has an SMS transmission function, even a landline telephone is provided in the technical gist of the present invention. Of course it belongs.

In one embodiment of the present invention, but the SMS transmission and reception as an example, of course, not limited to this, messages that can be transmitted and received, for example, LMS (Long Message Service) of course belongs to the technical scope of the present invention.

The above embodiments of the present invention are merely one embodiment of the technical idea of the present invention, and of course, other modifications are possible within the technical idea of the present invention.

The method of transmitting and receiving a message in a terminal of the present invention having the above configuration and operation process has the following effects.

First, the receiving terminal recognizes the 'acknowledgment mode' setting set in the priority field of the received message and transmits the acknowledgment to the calling terminal, thereby enabling the message sender to know whether the recipient acknowledges the message. Second, since the sender of the message knows whether the recipient checks the message, efficient text message management is possible, and as a result, it is possible to prevent economic time loss.
