상기 날부(1, 2, 3)은 상부 날부와, 상기 상부 날부의 하측에 위치하는 하부 날부로 이루어지고, 상부 날부 및 하부 날부는 각각 전선 절단날(2), 일측 피복제거용 날(1) 및 타측 피복제거용 날(3)로 이루어진다.
상기 전선 절단날(2)은 전선의 중간을 절단하기 위한 것이다. 그리고 상기 일측 피복제거용 날(1) 및 상기 타측 피복제거용 날(3)은 상기 전선 절단날(2)의 일측 및 타측에 일정거리 이격된 위치에 각각 형성되어 상기 전선 절단날(2)에 절단되어 분리된 2개의 전선의 양끝의 피복을 제거하기 위한 것이다.
상기 전선 절단날(2)과, 상기 일측 피복제거용 날(1) 및 상기 타측 피복제거용 날(3)의 간격은 전선의 양끝으로부터 제거하고자 하는 피복 폭에 의해 결정된다.
또한, 상기 일측 피복제거용 날(1) 및 상기 타측 피복제거용 날(3)에는 다양한 굵기의 전선의 피복을 제거할 수 있도록 도 1 내지 도 4와 같이 폭이 상이한 복수의 피복제거홈이 구비되는 것이 좋다.
도 5는 상부 날부와 하부 날부 사이에 전선을 물린 상태를 나타내는 평면도이고, 도 6은 상부 날부와 하부 날부 사이에 전선을 물린 상태에서 양측 전선을 각각 잡아 당긴 상태를 나타내는 평면도이다.
본 발명의 3단날을 이용한 전선 피복 제거기를 이용하여 전선의 절단과 함께 피복을 제거하기 위해서는 먼저 상기 상부 날부와 상기 하부 날부 사이에 전선(5)을 게재시킨 후 상기 손잡이부(4)를 쥐어 전선(5)을 도 5와 같이 물린다. 상기 손잡이부(4)를 쥐게 되면 상기 전선 절단날(2)은 피복을 포함한 전선(5)을 절단하고, 상기 일측 피복제거용 날(1) 및 상기 타측 피복제거용 날(3)은 전선의 피복에 한해 절단한다.
