Abstract

본 발명은 원격제어를 통한 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 설정 방법을 제공하기 위한 것으로서, 인터넷상에서 티브이 수신기의 고유번호 또는스마트카드의 고유번호를 이용하여 가지고 있는 고유의 위성 수신기 내에서만 선택할 수 있는 메뉴 선택 사항, 예를 들어, PPV 예약, 리마인드 리스트 등을 원격 제어함으로써, 티브이 수신기보다 더 간편하고 자세한 APG(Advanced Program Guide)를 검색할 수 있고, 시청자의 정보를 바로 검색할 수 있다.

원격제어를 통한 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 설정 방법{Method for Setting Menu of Television Receiver Through Remote Control}

본 발명은 티브이 수신기의 원격 메뉴 설정 방법에 관한 것이다.
최근 위성 방송의 채널의 수가 늘어나고, 프로그램이 다양해짐에 따라서 위 성 방송에 대한 관심이 커지고 있으며, 특히 APG(Advanced Program Guide) 메뉴 상에서 PPV(pay of view), 리마인드 리스트(Remind List) 등과 같은 기능들을 제공받을 수 있고, 또한 많은 APG 정보를 수신기에서 제공받을 수 있다.
위성 수신기는 각 수신기마다 고유의 번호를 가지고 있고, 그 번호에 메칭이 되는 고유번호를 가진 스마트카드(Smart Card)가 있어서 둘 중의 하나라도 맞지 않으면 TV 시청을 할 수 없을 뿐만 아니라 APG의 정보를 받을 수 없으며, 위에서 언급한 기능들을 이용할 수 없다.
종래의 기술은 자신의 티브이 등 수신기의 메뉴 내에서만 PPV, 리마인드 리스트 등을 제어하고 사용할 수 있으며, APG에 대한 정보를 볼 수가 있다.
또한 전화를 통해서 시청자의 스마트카드의 등급을 변경하거나 PPV 요금 등 시청자의 정보를 알 수가 있다.
또한 APG 정보 등의 수신기 내에서만 완전하게 검색이 가능하며, 물론 방송국 홈페이지 등에 가면 프로그램에 대한 정보가 소개되어 있는 경우도 있지만, APG에 대한 전체 정보라고는 볼 수가 없는 경우가 대부분이다.
도1은 종래 기술에 따라 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 셋팅을 위한 블록도 및 동작 개념도를 도시한 것이다.
도1을 보면 수신기 앞에서 수신기 메뉴를 조작해야만 원하는 정보를 검색하거나 원하는 프로그램을 찾고 그 프로그램에 대하여 예약, 선택, 취소 등을 할 수가 있으며, 또한 리마인드 리스트 등에 저장할 수가 있다.
따라서 본 발명은 수신기 앞에서뿐만 아니라 장소에 구애됨이 없이 인터넷을 통하여 수신기에서 제공하는 여러 가지 기능들을 원격 제어하는데 목적이 있으며, 특히 자신의 위성 수신기의 메뉴 선택 사항을 원격 제어하는데 그 목적이 있다.
상기와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명에 따른 원격제어를 통한 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 설정 방법의 특징은 사용자가 인터넷 채널을 통해 인터넷 상에 티브이 수신기의 정보에 대응하는 인터넷 상의 정보를 부여받는 제1 단계; 사용자가 인터넷 채널을 통해 상기 인터넷 상의 정보를 이용하여 로그인하여 APG를 포함한 정보 검색을 하거나 티브이 수신기의 메뉴를 설정하는 기능 및 기타 기능을 수행하는 제2 단계; 방송국이 인터넷 채널을 통해 상기 사용자에 의해 설정된 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 및 상기 인터넷 상의 정보에 대응하는 티브이 수신기 정보를 전송받는 제3 단계; 방송국이 상기 티브이 수신기에 상기 사용자에 의해 설정된 메뉴를 포함한 스트림 신호를 전송하는 제4 단계; 상기 티브이 수신기는 상기 스트림 신호를 전송받아 상기 사용자에 의해 설정된 메뉴를 저장하거나 디스플레이하는 제5 단계를 포함하여 이루어지는 데 있다.
그리고 본 발명은 상기 제2 단계에서, 상기 사용자는 인터넷 상에 로그인하여 자신의 티브이 수신기나 타 사용자의 티브이 수신기에 메일을 전송하거나, 자신의 APG 정보를 알람하는 기타 기능을 수행하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
또한 본 발명에 따른 상기 티브이 수신기의 정보는 수신기의 고유번호, 스마트카드의 고유번호 중 하나 이상을 포함하도록 하며, 상기 티브이 수신기의 정보에 대응하도록 인터넷 상의 정보, 일예로, 계정을 부여하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 특징에 따른 작용은 양방향으로 데이터를 주고 받을 수 있는 스마트 카드를 내장한 티브이 수신기와 인터넷 채널을 이용하여 수신기의 메뉴 설정을 원격 제어하여 수신기 앞에서뿐만 아니라 장소에 구애됨이 없이 수신기에서 제공하는 여러 가지 기능들을 원격 제어할 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 목적, 특성 및 잇점들은 첨부한 도면을 참조한 실시예들의 상세한 설명을 통해 명백해질 것이다.
본 발명에 따른 원격제어를 통한 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 설정 방법의 바람직한 실시 예에 대하여 첨부한 도면을 참조하여 설명하면 다음과 같다.
도2는 본 발명에 따른 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 셋팅을 위한 블록도 및 동작개념도를 도시한 것이다.
인터넷 중계기(30)에 의해 사용자(10)의 컴퓨터나, 휴대폰 등의 인터넷 매체(20)와 방송국의 인터넷 매체(20)가 연결되어 있다.
먼저, 사용자(10)가 컴퓨터나, 휴대폰 등을 통해 인터넷에 접속하고, 인터넷 상에서 사용자의 티브이 수신기(50)의 정보에 대응하는 계정을 부여받는다.
상기 티브이 수신기(50)의 정보는 수신기(50)의 고유번호, 또는 스마트카드 고유번호를 포함한다.
즉, 사용자(10)의 위성 수신기(50)와, 수신기(50) 또는 셋탑 박스에 장착되는 스마트카드는 양방향으로 데이터를 주고 받을 수 있고, 고유한 번호를 가지고 있으며, 사용자(10)가 상기와 같이 먼저 인터넷에 접속하여 자신의 수신기(50)나 스마트카드의 고유번호에 상응하는 인터넷 상의 계정을 제공받는다.
그러면 사용자(10)는 상기 계정을 이용하여 방송국(40)의 홈페이지에 로그인하여 APG(Advanced Program Guide)를 포함한 정보 검색을 하거나 티브이 수신기(50)의 메뉴를 설정(세팅)하는 기능 및 기타 기능을 수행한다
그런 다음 방송국(40)이 인터넷 채널을 통해 상기 사용자(10)에 의해 설정된 티브이 수신기(50)의 메뉴 및 상기 인터넷 상의 사용자(10)의 계정에 대응하는 티브이 수신기의 고유번호 또는 스마트카드 고유번호 등의 수신기 정보를 전송받는다.
이후 방송국(40)은 상기 수신기 정보를 전송받아 스트림 신호에 상기 티브이 수신기(50)에 상기 사용자(10)에 의해 설정된 메뉴를 포함하여 전송하고, 상기 티브이 수신기(50)는 상기 스트림 신호를 전송받아 상기 사용자(10)에 의해 설정된 메뉴를 저장하거나 디스플레이하게 된다.
이와 같은 과정을 통해 인터넷 상으로 설정을 하게 되면 방송국(40)에서는 이 설정된 값을 가지고 위성을 통하여 지정된 수신기(50)에 전달하여 수신기(50)에 저장 및 설정 변경이 이루어지도록 한다.
따라서, 자신의 위성 수신기(50)의 메뉴 선택 사항을 수신기(50) 상의 메뉴에서 뿐만 아니라, 인터넷을 통하여 원격제어 할 수 있고, 인터넷 상에서 APG 검색 및 메일을 타 수신기에 송신할 수 있다.
상기 APG(Advanced Program Guide)를 포함한 정보 검색을 하거나 티브이 수신기(50)의 메뉴를 설정(세팅)하는 기능 및 기타 기능을 자세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 수신기(50) 내에서만 메뉴를 조작해서 APG 정보를 이용하여 원하는 프로그램의 정보를 검색하거나 예약, 취소, 선택하고 살수 있는 문제점을 보완하여, 수신기(50)의 메뉴에서뿐만 아니라, 컴퓨터나 휴대폰 등 인터넷이 가능한 곳이면 어디에서나 수신기(50)로만 제공받는 APG 정보보다 메모리 제한없이 많은 양의 APG 정보의 상세한 정보를 검색할 수 있다.
그리고 원하는 프로그램을 예약, 선택, 취소 또는 살수 있으며, 리마인드 리스트에 저장하여 간편하게 서비스를 제공받을 수 있다.
둘째, 시청한 PPV의 요금 등 사용자(시청자)의 정보와, 수신기(50)에 현재 설정된 여러 가지 설정 정보를 인터넷 상에서 바로 알 수 있으며, 프로그램을 시청할 수 없을 경우 바로 취소가 가능하도록 하며, 스마트카드의 등급을 변경하는 등의 기타 기능을 수행한다.
셋째, 인터넷 상에서 원하는 프로그램 그룹을 선택하면 메일이나 휴대폰 등 인터넷 매체(20)를 통하여 그 그룹에 해당되는 프로그램에 대한 정보나 방영시간 등에 대한 정보도 미리 제공받을 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 예약된 프로그램이 있을 경우 방영시간 전에 메일이나 휴대폰으로 알려주는 등의 정보 제공 및 알람 정보 제공 기능을 수행한다.
넷째, 현재 단방향의 메일 기능을 쌍방향의 메일 기능과 같은 효과를 가진 기능으로 전환할 수 있도록 한다.
즉, 현재 방송국(40)에서만 제한적으로 보낼 수 있는 단방향의 메일 기능을 사용자(10)도 다른 사용자의 수신기(70)에게 메일을 보낼 수 있는 쌍방향의 메일 기능처럼 서비스를 제공받을 수도 있다.
도3은 본 발명에 따라 인터넷을 이용하여 상기와 같은 쌍방향의 메일 서비스를 제공하기 위한 블록도를 도시한 것이다.
도3과 같이, 방송국(40)에서만 제한된 내용으로 단방향으로만 전송되는 메일 기능을 사용자(10)가 인터넷을 이용하여 자신의 수신기(50)나 다른 사용자의 수신기(50)에 메일을 보내는 것을 보여주고 있다.
또한 상기 원격제어는 수신기(50)의 메뉴에서 원격제어의 Enable/Disable을 선택함으로써 사용자의 선택에 맡길 수도 있다.
즉, 상기 사용자(10)가 티브이 수신기(50)의 메뉴에서 원격제어의 Enable/Disable을 단자를 취사 선택하도록 하여, 인터넷 상에서 자신의 인터넷 상의 정보를 이용하여 수신기(50)의 메뉴를 설정하고, 가입자 정보 변경, APG 정보 변경, 메일 송수신 기능, 알람 기능 등을 수행하도록 하거나, 또는 사용자의 티브이 수신기(50)에서만 모뎀(60)을 통해 직접 수신기의 메뉴를 설정하도록 한다.
이상에서 설명한 바와 같은 본 발명에 따른 원격제어를 통한 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 설정 방법은 다음과 같은 효과가 있다.
수신기 앞에서만 할 수 있는 메뉴 설정 및 검색, 프로그램 예약 및 취소 등을 인터넷을 통하여 할 수 있도록 함으로써 공간의 제한을 없앨 수 있으며, 원하는 프로그램 그룹을 셋팅함으로써 그 프로그램에 대한 정보를 하나하나 검색하지 않아 도 메일 등 인터넷의 다양한 기능을 통하여 쉽게 정보를 받아 볼 수 있다.
또한, 인터넷의 편리한 기능 중에 알람 설정과 같이, PPV로 예약된 프로그램이 방영되기 전에 휴대폰이나 인터넷 매체를 통하여 미리 알려 줌으로써 취소 등이 용이하도록 할 수 있으며, 중요 설정 메뉴가 바뀌면 바로 인터넷 매체를 통하여 전달되도록 할 수가 있다.
또한 메일 기능을 이용하여 메시지를 사용자가 자신의 수신기나 다른 사용자의 수신기에 전달 할 수가 있다.
이상 설명한 내용을 통해 당업자라면 본 발명의 기술 사상을 이탈하지 아니하는 범위에서 다양한 변경 및 수정이 가능함을 알 수 있을 것이다.
따라서, 본 발명의 기술적 범위는 실시예에 기재된 내용으로 한정되는 것이 아니라 특허 청구의 범위에 의하여 정해져야 한다.

Claims (3)

  1. 사용자가 인터넷 채널을 통해 인터넷 상에 티브이 수신기의 정보에 대응하는 인터넷 상의 정보를 부여받는 제1 단계;
    사용자가 인터넷 채널을 통해 상기 인터넷 상의 정보를 이용하여 로그인하여 APG를 포함한 정보 검색을 하거나 티브이 수신기의 메뉴를 설정하는 기능 및 자신의 티브이 수신기나 타 사용자의 티브이 수신기에 메일을 전송하는 기능을 수행하는 제2 단계;
    방송국이 인터넷 채널을 통해 상기 사용자에 의해 설정된 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 및 상기 인터넷 상의 정보에 대응하는 티브이 수신기 정보를 전송받는 제3 단계;

    상기 티브이 수신기는 상기 스트림 신호를 전송받아 상기 사용자에 의해 설정된 메뉴를 저장하거나 디스플레이하는 제5 단계를 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 원격제어를 통한 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 설정 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제2 단계에서, 상기 사용자는 인터넷 상에 로그인하여 자신의 APG 정보를 알람하는 기타 기능을 수행하는 것을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 원격제어를 통한 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 설정 방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 티브이 수신기의 정보는 수신기의 고유번호, 스마트카드의 고유번호 중 하나 이상을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 원격제어를 통한 티브이 수신기의 메뉴 설정 방법.
