Abstract

A composition comprising 2-phenyl-4H-chromen-4-one is provided to show the nematocidal activity on B. xylophilus by influencing on the growth of a germ and a larva of nematoda and gamete proliferation, thereby being usefully used as a nematocide. A nematocide having the activity of killing B. xylophilus comprises a compound represented by the formula(1) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an effective ingredient, wherein 100-150 ml of the compound having a concentration of 0.1mM as an effective amount is administered to nematoda.
