The present invention relates to a backlight unit of a liquid crystal display device, and more particularly, to a light guide plate fixing structure capable of preventing the deterioration of an optical quality of the light guide plate itself while preventing the lamp from being damaged by the flow of the light guide plate.
Unlike the cathode ray tube (CRT), the liquid crystal display is not a display device that emits light by itself, and thus, a rear surface of the liquid crystal panel is provided with a separate light source to visually express an image. As a light source of a liquid crystal display, a backlight unit having a fluorescent lamp (CCFL) is generally used.
Although not shown, the backlight unit has a structure in which a reflective plate, a light guide plate, a diffusion plate, a prism plate, and a protective plate are sequentially stacked and placed in a mold frame, and a fluorescent lamp is disposed on one side of the light guide plate in the mold frame. The light generated from the light is transmitted through the light guide plate and projected directly under the liquid crystal panel.
However, in typical backlight units, the light guide plate flows in the mold frame, thereby lowering the optical quality of the light guide plate itself and causing damage to the fluorescent lamp.
Therefore, conventionally, the light guide plate fixing structure is additionally provided to prevent the deterioration of the optical quality of the light guide plate itself and the damage of the fluorescent lamp due to the flow of the light guide plate.
1 is a view for explaining a conventional light guide plate fixing structure.
As shown, the
However, according to the conventional light guide plate fixing structure, the shape of the light guide plate, which is a light transmission path, is partially damaged, so that its own deterioration of optical quality occurs. Of course, this problem can be solved by adding the printing of the optical film disposed on the light guide plate, but in this case another problem arises that the additional process is cumbersome.
In addition, according to the conventional light guide plate fixing structure, when fixing between the light guide plate and the mold frame using the double-sided tape, additional defects may occur due to inexperience of the assembly work, and there is a possibility that the reliability of the device may be deteriorated. In particular, since the double-sided tape must be added, it is disadvantageous in terms of cost.
FIG. 2 is a view for explaining a problem in the conventional light guide plate fixing structure, and reference numerals A, B, and C denote positions where screen defects are caused due to damage to the light guide plate and use of double-sided tape, respectively.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a structure for fixing a light guide plate of a backlight unit for a liquid crystal display device, which is designed to solve various problems of the prior art and to secure optical and mechanical reliability.
In addition, another object of the present invention is to provide a light guide plate fixing structure of a backlight unit for a liquid crystal display device that can simplify the assembly process.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention, the reflecting plate, the light guide plate, the diffusion plate, the prism plate and the protective plate are laminated and placed in order from the bottom in the mold frame, the liquid crystal having a structure in which a fluorescent lamp is disposed on one side of the light guide plate A fixed structure for preventing the light guide plate from flowing in the backlight unit for a display device, wherein the mold frame and the light guide plate are each designed to have a trapezoidal shape having a large size of a light incident surface that does not contact a fluorescent lamp compared to a light incident surface that contacts a fluorescent lamp. And a clip is installed in each of the mold frame portions adjacent to the light incident surface to protrude inwards, and the light guide plate is slid and inserted into the mold frame and fixed by the clip at the same time. Provides a light guide plate fixing structure of the unit.
Here, the mold frame and the light guide plate are preferably designed such that a gap at the light incident surface is maintained at 0.1 mm or less.
According to the present invention, by providing a clip acting as a kind of spring in the mold frame, it is possible to prevent the play of the light guide plate by such a clip, and also to mold on the light incident surface by changing the design of the mold frame and the light guide plate. By minimizing the gap between the frame and the light guide plate, excessive insertion of the light guide plate can be suppressed to prevent lamp breakage.
(Example)
Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
3 is a plan view illustrating a light guide plate fixing structure of a backlight unit for a liquid crystal display according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
As shown, in the light guide plate fixing structure of the present invention, the shape of the
In addition, predetermined portions of the
In such a structure, as illustrated in FIG. 4, the
Here, the
Therefore, the light guide plate fixing structure according to the present invention can prevent its own flow by designing the shape of the light guide plate in a trapezoidal shape, and can improve its optical characteristics because the light incident surface can maintain its complete shape without damage. In addition, since it is not necessary to print the optical film in order to maintain the optical properties of the light guide plate, it is possible to secure the advantages in the process.
In addition, the light guide plate fixing structure according to the present invention can block the light guide plate flow in the mold frame by installing clips on one side and the other side of the mold frame, thereby securing mechanical reliability of the light guide plate itself and the backlight unit.
In addition, since the light guide plate fixing structure according to the present invention does not use the double-sided tape for fixing the light guide plate, all the problems caused by the use of the double-sided tape can also be completely solved.
As described above, the present invention is to minimize the gap between the mold frame and the light guide plate in the light incident surface by changing the design of the mold frame and the light guide plate, and also install a clip (clip) acting as a kind of spring to the light guide plate By further preventing the clearance of the light guide plate, the excessive insertion of the light guide plate can be suppressed to prevent lamp breakage, while maintaining the complete shape of the light guide plate entrance face, thereby improving its optical characteristics and mechanical reliability.
In addition, this invention can be implemented in various changes in the range which does not deviate from the summary.
