The present invention relates to a refrigerator, and more particularly to a refrigerator damper for selectively opening and closing the cold air duct provided in the refrigerator.

1 illustrates a state in which a refrigerator damper according to the prior art is installed in a cold air duct, and FIG. 2 illustrates the damper of FIG. 1.

As shown in the figure, a damper 20 is installed on the cold air duct 10 which is a passage through which cold air flows between the freezer compartment and the refrigerating compartment of the refrigerator. The damper 20 controls the cold air flow between the freezer compartment and the refrigerating compartment by opening and closing the cold air duct 10 according to the temperature of the refrigerator compartment.

As shown in FIG. 2, the damper body 21 forming the frame of the damper 20 is formed in a rectangular shape as a whole, and a baffle 23 is rotatably installed therein. The baffle 23 may be formed in a rectangular shape corresponding to the shape of the damper body 21, and rotates about one end thereof to selectively open and close the cold air duct 10.

Meanwhile, a heater 27 is mounted on one surface of the baffle 23. The heater 27 prevents freezing of moisture in the cold air inside the refrigerating compartment by condensation on one surface of the baffle 23 due to a temperature difference between the freezing compartment and the refrigerating compartment. The heater 27 is connected to a heater wire 29 for supplying electric power and for transmitting an electrical signal.

In addition, a stepping motor 25 for rotating the baffle 23 is mounted on one side of the damper body 21 adjacent to the baffle 23. The stepping motor 25 is driven by a controller (not shown) according to a temperature detected by a temperature sensor (not shown) for measuring the temperature inside the refrigerator, thereby rotating the baffle 23.

However, the refrigerator damper according to the related art has the following problems.

As described above, the heater 27 is provided to prevent freezing from occurring in the baffle 23. Therefore, the heater 27 is provided in this way, not only the manufacturing cost of the product rises, but also a problem in that additional power is consumed for driving the heater 27.

The present invention is to solve such a conventional problem, it is an object of the present invention to provide a damper for a refrigerator configured to more easily prevent freezing.

According to a feature of the present invention for achieving the above object, the present invention is the damper main body is installed on the cold air duct in which the cold air of the freezing chamber flows to the refrigerating chamber, and the other end can be rotated about one end of the damper body about one end. Installed in the baffle to selectively open and close the cold air duct, formed in the baffle, at least one vent hole through which cold air flows to prevent freezing of the baffle while the cold air duct is shielded, and for rotating the baffle. It is configured to include a stepping motor for providing a driving force.

The vent is characterized in that it is formed in a size to allow the amount of cold air flows irrespective of the temperature change of the refrigerating chamber in consideration of the capacity of the freezer compartment and the refrigerating compartment and the flow cross-sectional area of the cold duct.

According to the present invention as described above, there is an advantage that it is possible to prevent the phenomenon of freezing in the damper with a simple configuration.

Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of a damper for a refrigerator according to the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

3 shows a preferred embodiment of a damper for a refrigerator according to the present invention. The same reference numerals as in Fig. 1 are used for the same configurations as the prior art.

As shown in the drawing, a damper body 41 installed at an inner side or one end of a cold air duct that serves as a passage through which cold air flows between a freezer compartment and a refrigerating compartment of the refrigerator includes: a damper body 41 forming a frame thereof; The damper main body 41 is configured to include a baffle 43 rotatably installed, and a stepping motor 45 for rotating the baffle 43.

The damper body 41 is formed in a rectangular shape as a whole, and is installed at an inner side or one end of the cold air duct 10. In addition, the baffle 43 installed in the damper body 41 rotates about one side end thereof to open and close the cold air duct 10, thereby controlling cold air flowing from the freezer compartment to the cold compartment.

The baffle 43 is formed in a shape corresponding to the shape of the damper body 41, and a plurality of vent holes 44 are formed in the baffle 43. The vent 44 serves as a passage through which a small amount of the freezer compartment cold air flows into the refrigerating compartment in a state in which the baffle 43 rotates to shield the cold air duct 10.

At this time, the ventilation hole 44 lowers the temperature inside the cold air duct 10 and prevents cold air from flowing inside the damper 40 by the temperature difference between the freezer compartment and the refrigerating compartment. Moisture contained in the cold air inside the refrigerating compartment is to prevent the freezing of one surface of the damper 40 adjacent to the refrigerating compartment. Therefore, the cross-sectional area of the vent hole 44 is determined as a value at which a significantly smaller amount of cold air flows compared to the cold air flowing from the freezing chamber to the refrigerating chamber in the state in which the cold air duct 10 is opened. That is, the size of the vent 44 is determined according to the capacity of the refrigerator or the flow cross-sectional area of the cold air duct 10.

Meanwhile, the stepping motor 45 is installed at one side of the damper body 41 to provide a driving force for rotating the baffle 43. The stepping motor 45 is driven by a controller (not shown) according to a temperature detected by a temperature sensor (not shown) for measuring the temperature inside the refrigerator.

Next, the operation of the preferred embodiment of the damper for a refrigerator according to the present invention will be described.

First, when the temperature of the refrigerating compartment is higher than the set temperature, the cold air duct 10 is opened to flow the cold air of the freezing compartment into the refrigerating compartment. To this end, the baffle 43 in which the cold air duct 10 is shielded is rotated by the stepping motor 45 to open the cold air duct 10.

As such, when the cold air duct 10 is opened, cold air of the freezing compartment flows into the refrigerating compartment, thereby lowering the temperature of the refrigerating compartment. Therefore, since the refrigerator compartment can maintain a set temperature, the food inside the refrigerator compartment can be stored more freshly.

When the temperature of the refrigerating compartment is lower than the set temperature, the cold air duct 10 is blocked to prevent the cold air of the freezing compartment from flowing into the refrigerating compartment. That is, the baffle 43 is rotated by the stepping motor 45 to shield the cold air duct 10.

When the cold air duct 10 is shielded as described above, the cold air of the freezing compartment is no longer supplied to the refrigerating compartment, so that the temperature of the refrigerating compartment is no longer lowered. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the phenomenon in which the food inside the refrigerator compartment is frozen or frozen.

On the other hand, even if the cold air duct 10 is shielded by the baffle 43, the cold air of the freezer compartment flows to the refrigerating compartment through the vent hole 44 of the cold air duct 10. As such, the cool air supplied to the refrigerating compartment through the vent hole 44 is significantly smaller than the cold air supplied to the refrigerating compartment when the cold air duct 10 is opened, regardless of the temperature change of the refrigerating compartment. One surface of the damper 40 adjacent to the, in particular, the baffle 43 serves to prevent freezing.

That is, the temperature of the inside of the cold air duct 10 is lowered by the cold air flowing through the air vent 44, and the cold air in the refrigerating compartment is prevented from flowing toward the damper 40. Therefore, the moisture contained in the cold air inside the refrigerating chamber of relatively high humidity due to the temperature difference between the freezer compartment and the refrigerating chamber is condensed to prevent the phenomenon that one surface of the damper 40 freezes.

Within the scope of the basic technical idea of the present invention, many modifications are possible to those skilled in the art, and the scope of the present invention should be interpreted based on the appended claims. will be.

According to the damper for a refrigerator by this invention comprised in this way, the following effects are anticipated.

Although the cold air duct is shielded by the damper by forming a plurality of vent holes in the baffle constituting the damper, the cold air in the freezer compartment flows to the cold compartment through the vent hole, so that the humidity is relatively low due to the temperature difference between the freezer compartment and the cold compartment. The damper is prevented from freezing by moisture contained in the cold air inside the refrigerating chamber. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the damper from freezing with a simpler configuration and lower cost.
