Abstract
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a display apparatus, and more particularly, to a display element driving apparatus capable of eliminating a brightness difference caused by distortion or delay of a scan pulse applied to a display panel and maintaining a constant brightness over the entire screen. Conventionally, a scan pulse input by a resistor and a capacitor present in a panel is delayed, and thus, a voltage difference between the data electrode and the scan electrode is different for each cell, thereby causing a difference in luminance. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In view of the above problems, the present invention provides a MIM display device driving apparatus including a control unit, which receives a pulse control signal output from the control unit, modulates a pulse width and a duty cycle, and differentiates and inverts the modulated pulse signal. A scan pulse compensator for outputting a compensated scan pulse signal obtained by adding the generated signal and a scan pulse signal output from the scan driver to be described later, and outputting the scan pulse signal to the scan pulse compensator by the switching control signal output from the controller A scan pulse output unit configured to include a scan driver configured to receive the compensated scan pulse signal output from the scan pulse compensator and output the received scan pulse signal to a display element, thereby compensating for a luminance difference according to a panel load, and driving a large screen. This has a possible effect.

BACKGROUND OF THE
Recently, wireless mobile communication such as IMT-2000 has been in the spotlight. Displays in such wireless mobile communications require good quality, high speed, low weight and low power consumption.
A switching element capable of satisfying the above-mentioned function is a metal-insulator-metal (hereinafter, referred to as 'MIM'). MIM is an electrode structure formed of a thin film. Since the resistive and condenser components are very large, low voltage and high current are required for driving due to the characteristics of the panel.
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a general MIM cell structure. In the MIM device, when a predetermined voltage Vd-s is applied to the
The emitted electrons are accelerated toward the anode to which the phosphor is applied by the anode voltage (Va), which is a larger anode voltage. When the electrons collide with the phosphor, energy is generated, and the energy is applied to the phosphor. The electrons are excited and then fall off and emit light.
FIG. 2 is a block diagram illustrating a conventional display device driving apparatus. When the image signal IN is input, the control unit outputs a control signal by receiving horizontal and vertical synchronization signals H and V sync of the image signal IN. A
As illustrated in FIG. 3, the
Referring to the operation of the conventional display element driving apparatus configured as described above, when the image signal IN is input, the
The
Then, the scan driving IC 24e receives the scan pulse output from the scan

Due to the delay phenomenon, the overlapping portion of the data pulse output from the
This voltage difference is different for each cell, i.e., the scan pulse inputted by the resistor and the capacitor present in the
Therefore, in view of the above problems, the present invention configures a scan pulse compensator that adds a signal generated by differentiating an external pulse control signal to a conventional scan pulse by modulating a pulse width and a duty cycle, thereby compensating for a luminance difference according to a panel load. The

Referring to the operation of the display device driving apparatus of the present invention configured as described above, when the image signal IN is input, the
The
The scan
In addition, the
The pulse signal thus output is received by the
Then, the voltage input from the
This output pulse waveform can be seen that the output waveform is almost similar when the load is applied to the
In this way, the compensated scan pulse and data pulse are received to display the image signal IN input from the outside of the

Referring to the operation of the present invention as described above, the
The
As described above, by controlling the positive and negative voltages of the pulse voltage differentially output from the
As described above, the present invention is very easy to apply to the display field in which the load of the
