Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for abbreviating local codes in a portable wireless communication terminal is provided to preset frequently used local codes, and to dial a telephone number only except a local code when using the one of the preset local codes, thereby forming a speech path. CONSTITUTION: A controller receives power(100), and reads a self telephone number to display the read number(101). The controller decides whether a corresponding local code is stored(102). If so, the controller displays the stored local code on a display(103). The controller inputs key data from a key input unit, and decides whether the inputted key data are dial key data(105). If so, the controller decides whether the first dial number starts with '0'(106). If not, the controller performs a corresponding local mode(107), and delivers the local code with an inputted telephone number(109). When a speech path is formed, the controller carries out a speech mode(110).
