CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the power of display device includes the steps of: erasing(S1) the information in the non-volatile memory device; verifying(S2) the state of the digital power switch; maintaining(S3) the display power management signaling(DPMS) when the power switch turns off; and releasing(S4) the DPMS when the power switch turns on.

Description

How to control the power of your display device

The present invention relates to a method for controlling power of a display device, and more particularly, to an efficient power resupply method of a display device using a digital power switch.

If a power outage occurs while using the computer, the power supply will be interrupted. At this time, the user may leave the power switch without turning it off. In particular, according to the conventional analog power switch, additional components are required in terms of mechanical or circuit aspects.

Although one side of the monitor uses a light emitting diode to indicate the power supply state of the monitor, the size of the light emitting diode is small and not easily noticeable. For this reason, it often happens that the monitor is left on. This not only causes waste of power but also adversely affects the life of the monitor.

Also, the power connector may be disconnected and then reconnected without turning off the power switch. If you unplug the cable and suddenly turn on the power, you will be surprised. If repairing, the operator may be at risk. If other parts of the circuit are in contact, there may be a risk.

The present invention is to solve the problems as listed above, and relates to a power control method that can automatically detect when the power cable is missing or power failure.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a control method for saving power of a display device when power supply is interrupted and then supplied again.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention implements a process of erasing information in a volatile memory device, a process of checking a state of a digital power switch, and a power saving mode (DPMS) when the power switch is in an off state. And the process of releasing the power saving mode DPMS when the power switch is turned on.

1 is a flowchart illustrating a power control method according to the present invention.

1 is a flowchart illustrating a power control method of a display apparatus when a supply of power is stopped and then supplied again.

(S1 과정)The microcomputer of the display device is designed to always receive V DD (5V) when the AC power cable is connected. Therefore, in case of power failure or when the AC power cable is not connected, the microcomputer's V DD has a zero potential value (GND). After a power failure or when 5V power is supplied to the microcomputer again through the power cable, the microcomputer is reset in hardware. The moment the reset occurs, the microcomputer performs power control. Since the reset condition is when the 5V is not supplied again, the power failure or disconnection of the power cable can be detected. (S1 course)

리셋이 걸린 경우는 마이컴은 디지탈 전원 스위치의 상태를 확인한다.(S2 과정)In case of reset, Micom checks the status of the digital power switch.

디지탈 전원 스위치가 오프(Off)상태이면 마이컴만이 동작되어 전원절전모드(Display Power Management Signaling: DPMS)로 전환하여 스위칭을 대기하도록 제어한다.(S3 과정)If the digital power switch is in the OFF state, only the microcomputer is operated to switch to the display power management signal (DPMS) mode and wait for switching.

만일 사용자가 디지탈 전원 스위치를 온(ON)시키면 절전모드(DPMS)를 해제하고 정상동작할 수 있도록 한다.(S4 과정)If the user turns on the digital power switch, the power saving mode (DPMS) is released and normal operation is performed.

On the other hand, in order to eliminate the inconvenience of repeatedly switching the AC power supply during production, the digital switch should always be ON during factory adjustment.

The present invention has the effect of power saving and safety by always turning on the digital switch to turn on the digital switch when the power supply is cut off and provided again for any reason.
