Abstract

PURPOSE: A power reducer using a toroidal core is provided to increase the efficiency by applying the principle of step-down transformer to a high efficiency toroidal core. CONSTITUTION: A step-down transformer(10) connects in parallel to a first toroidal coil(L1)(11), a bypass switch(SW), and a second toroidal coil(L3)(12). A harmonic wave filter(20) is comprised of a serial coil(L2) and a harmonic wave capacitor(C2). The serial coil(L2) filters a harmonic wave of an electric signal applied from the step-down transformer(10). A power factor compensator(30) is comprised of a compensating capacitor(C1) and the harmonic wave capacitor(C2). The compensating capacitor(C1) compensates a power factor of the electric signal of the harmonic wave filter(20). A detector(40) detects a current and a voltage of a toroidal power reducer circuit.
