PURPOSE: Provided are a bulblet forming agent of Dioscorea bulbifera containing, as an active ingredient, Mepiquat chloride and a method for forming the bulblet of Dioscorea bulbifera using the same. CONSTITUTION: A bulblet forming agent of Dioscorea bulbifera is characterized by containing, as an active ingredient, Mepiquat chloride. A method for forming the bulblet of Dioscorea bulbifera is characterized by spreading 120mL of aqueous solution containing 200-600ppm of Mepiquat chloride as an active ingredient, just before forming a bulblet from an axilla of Dioscorea bulbifera.
