Abstract

PURPOSE: An overheat preventing apparatus and a gas oven therewith are provided to prevent accidents from carelessness by automatically closing the gas supply passage after the predetermined time with mounting a timer switch. CONSTITUTION: An overheat preventing apparatus comprises a thermocoupler(10) installed in a burner of a gas oven to generate thermoelectric power by flame of the burner; a magnetic gas shutoff unit(20) generating the magnetic force by thermoelectric power from the thermocoupler and selectively opening and closing the gas supply passage; and a timer switch(40) installed between an output terminal of the thermocoupler and an input terminal of the magnetic gas shutoff unit, closed in starting or finishing the predetermined time, and connected during the predetermined time. The timer switch has a time setting unit setting time and a spring part converting kinetic energy to the time setting unit to elastic energy, and adjusts the thermocoupler and the magnetic gas shutoff unit by turning the spring part.
