Abstract

PURPOSE: A gateway system controlled by a PC is provided to link the Internet and the PSTN with a full duplex mode through PC control by connecting to an interface of the PC. CONSTITUTION: A PC interface(310) communicates with a CPU of the PC(200) by physically connecting to the interface of the PC. A telephone linker(320) links the PSTN with the full duplex mode by converting digital data transmitted from the PC through the PC interface into analog data used for the PSTN, and vice versa. A connector(330) is equipped with a PSTN connection module(331) controlling analog data communication with the telephone linker and the PSTN by connecting to the PSTN, and a telephone connection module(332) controlling the analog data communication with the telephone linker and a local telephone by connecting to the local telephone. A software part(340) comprises a control library(341) relaying data and a control signal through an Internet telephone program executed by the CPU of the PC, and a function drive(342) controlling operation of the PC interface, the telephone linker, and the connection part by the relayed signal.
