Abstract

PURPOSE: A positive electrode for a lithium sulfur battery, its preparation method, a lithium sulfur battery using the positive electrode and its preparation method are provided, to prevent the deterioration of lifetime characteristic, the leakage of an electrolyte solution, the precipitation of Li2S and the decrease of discharge capacity in high rate discharge. CONSTITUTION: The positive electrode comprises a binder mixture containing polytetrafluoroethylene and a thickener. Preferably the thickener is any one selected from the group consisting of carboxymethyl cellulose, poly(vinyl alcohol), poly(vinyl acetate) polyethylene oxide, polyacrylonitrile, poly(vinyl pyrrolidone), alkylated polyethylene oxide, poly(vinyl pyridine), crosslinked polyethylene oxide, poly(vinyl ether), poly(methyl methacrylate), polyvinylidene fluoride, a copolymer of polyhexafluoropropylene and polyvinylidene fluoride, poly(ethyl acrylate), poly(vinyl chloride) and polystyrene.
