Abstract

PURPOSE: A video monitoring system using a daisy chain mode is provided to bypass images photographed by a plurality of video cameras in multiple stages so as to display more than four split pictures on one display only with a simple system configuration. CONSTITUTION: A video monitoring system using a daisy chain mode includes A/D converters(10,12,14,16), at least one slave video signal processor(18,20,22) connected in daisy chain form, a master video signal processor(24), and a D/A converter(28). Each of the A/D converters converts a channel video signal output from each of at least one video camera into digital video data. The slave video signal processor squeezes the digital video data output from the A/D converter through a video source channel to output the squeezed data to the first bypass channel, and combines the digital video data with digital video data output through the second bypass channel before the first bypass channel to output the combined data to the second bypass channel. The master video signal processor squeezes the digital video data output from the A/D converter through the video source channel and stores the squeezed data together with the digital video data output from the first and second bypass channels of the last slave video signal processor in a frame memory(26), so as to form multi-channel split pictures. The D/A converter converts the multi-channel split picture data into an analog video signal.
