Abstract

PURPOSE: A sand mixer useful for forming a mold is provided to satisfy requirements such as air-permeation, fire-retardant property and forming ability of molding sand by preferably introducing sand and/or resin mixture as raw material of the molding sand into the mixer. CONSTITUTION: The sand mixer comprises a driving portion(10) having a driving motor(12), a raw material transferring portion(20), a blending portion(30) and a supporting portion(40). The transferring portion(20) consists of a screw housing(22), a hopper(24) communicating the housing(22) and a conveyor screw axially jointed with the driving motor(12). The blending portion(30) comprises a cylindrical housing(31), a blade axis(32), a number of mixing blades(33), an inlet(34) communicating the housing(31) to receive resin admixture, an outlet(35) communicating the housing(31) and a housing cover(36) containing a bearing(37). The supporting portion(40) includes a pivot motor(42) at lower side of the transferring portion(20) and a base(44) to support the sand mixer.
